They're trying to make up for the budget cuts. I heard a couple weeks back where the state was trying to set it up where the state police get a percentage of the tickets it writes. No chance for corruption.

Got a ticket in Chicago like this one Christmas. Pulled onto the interstate and there was a seat belt check point. Ridiculous. People do not understand freedom.

I'm sure many more states are stepping up enforcement of seat belt laws around this time of year. 30 states have primary enforcement laws while 19 have secondary.
