MUST WATCH!!!

Outstanding 5+ minute film shot in GREAT DETAIL from a cable car in San Francisco in 1905, just a year before the Great San Francisco Earthquake!

that's bad ass. I'm amazed at how formal public was.

I'm surprised at how many cars I saw, considering this is pre-Model T, when only the very rich could afford cars.

Somebody posted this video and 3 others from other non-regulated transportation areas a few months back. Can't find the thread though.

Jaywalking! Cars not even going near the lanes! TOTAL ANARCHY!

Watching that video knocks the wind out of me every time. What an incredible piece of history, beautifully preserved.

I saw it some time ago and it surprised me how well dressed people were. Even the kids were dressing with a fine suit.

No kidding. I always wondered why Brooklyn would have named their team the (trolley) Dodgers back in that same time period. Seemed like a pretty stupid name for a team. Now i know why!

Probably picked up from Lew Rockwell where it appeared on his blog a month or two ago.

This is totally fake. Everyone knows that before the Federal income tax people dressed in rags and were dying in the streets from disease and violence. ;)

What a sausage fest.

I see San Fran hasn't changed much.

Funny to see kids grabbing on to the back of cars, to "help them run faster" - drivers didn't even seem to care.

I like all the people staring somewhat quizzically into the camera. Very interesting video.
