Les Phillip is a Congressional candidate in Alabama's 5th district. His platform is not explicitely interventionist, calls for privatization of space travel, supports homeschooling, elimination of inheritance taxes, and abolition of the EPA, among other things. He sounds pretty good on the surface, so I was curious what other people here have heard about him?

made a thread on him:

but i'll just post here:

From the advertising company that gave you:

Gives you their newest addition, featuring African-American tea party activist Les Phillip:

Guess who thinks he's a racist? Megan McCain! And Rachel Maddow!

YouTube - Rachel Maddow attacks Les Phillip for his comments about Meghan McCain's Tea Party insult (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IAaA-Spav3M)

Ya, Megan "Rand Paul embarrassed the tea party" McCain NEVER knew jack SHIZ about the tea party, clearly, when she said its just a bunch of old people who want literacy test.

And Rachel has always been an race baiting gal who was completely ignorant about the tea party to begin with.

It's funny that liberals have called for the citizenry to "wake up" and become active in their government. But once they see that it does occur but those people are /not/ on their side, they are criticized and demonized as mere caricatures (usually racist white rednecks).

But this guy isn't a redneck. Their solution to this problem? "Oh, that's just because he's an Uncle Tom then." Ya. Keep it classy.

How's Les Philip polling in his primary field?

I have not seen any polls in Alabama's 5th district yet. Interestingly, Phillip would be running against a party-switching incumbent, similar to Ron Paul's campaign in 1996.

With only 15%, I'd say he lost this one. Fortunately, it looks like Parker Griffith lost too.
