May 23, 2010 — John Stossel show aired on FOX Business network on May 20th, 2010. It was all about free speech. Do we even appreciate what this great country of ours has to offer? Compare it to Canada's censorship under a disguise of protection against so called "hate speech" and I think, the choice is clear. I broke it down into following parts due to various lengths of its segments:
1) Bill of Rights and "What is free speech?"
2) Continuation of "What is free speech?" and "Canada bans 'hate' speech"
3) Free speech or hate speech?
4) What is obscenity?
5) Political speech and closing comments by Stossel.

i agree with everything they said except in part 4 about where they argued people should be allowed to own movies depicting actual real life murders, rape or child pornography.

I agree with the one guy that said making those illegal lowers demand. Those are different than previous prohibition because in previous prohibition your preventing someone from doing something to themselves. To make those illegal is preventing someone from doing something harmful to others

Guns can potentially be used to harm someone else. Are you against gun ownership? Does gun prohibition work?

How does the act of observing a video make someone guilty of a crime?

I've seen videos of people getting killed on the internet. Should I be punished for that, in your opinion?

well first off the gun ownership is a poor analogy to what i was talking about.I was talking about a video depicting a actual crime that was committed. That has nothing to do with gun ownership or the potential of a crime being committed.

The second part of your comment is something ill admit im not sure the proper way to approach it.I think possession or purchasing contributes to the real life crime it depicts in the cases where the real life crimes intent was ment to sell and make money(Ex. child porn)

The only way to compare it a little is to say ,is it a crime to know a friend or family member killed someone or raped a child and you do nothing about it?you yourself didnt commit the crime?

Now i know the difference is youd probably not know the person committing the crime in the video in the scenario were talking about but would it be more prudent to give it to authoritys that might be able to solve who committed the crime than to use for your own amusement?
