Ark. shooter held anti-government views

Questioning government authority
Jerry Kane, who had a long history with police, used the Internet to question federal and local governments' authority over him and held debt-elimination seminars around the country. He recently complained about being busted at a "Nazi checkpoint" near Carrizozo, N.M., where court records show he spent three days in jail before posting a $1,500 bond on charges of driving without a license and concealing his identity.

Sheriff Gene Kelly in Clark County, Ohio, said he issued a warning to law enforcement about Kane in July 2004, after Kane said a judge tried to "enslave" him when he was sentenced to six days of community service for driving with an expired license plate and no seat belt. Kane claimed he was a "free man" and asked for $100,000 per day in gold or silver, Kelly said.

Is that real?

I suppose so.

Seems like Jerry Kane and family should've considered the FSP as an option.

Write up on the incident on Infowars states the media connecting them to the Aryan nation through registration of the van to a particular church, also connections to the Guardian of the Free Republic website. This story does seem loaded with everything the government wants the public to believe about all limited-government advocates.

I've been following the RAP very carefully ever since I first read about the letters. From all that I have read GOFR have repeatedly stressed a non-violent approach. I read that Jerry Kane was dead by posters in forums associated with GOFR, but at that time could not find any news on the subject. It appears that they knew who he was. I didn't. I have also read in these forums that one of the Jurors was relieved of duty because he answered his door to speak with the FBI, but was holding a shotgun. This would be consistent with GOFR's message of non-violence.

All that said, why was Jerry Kane and his son driving around with AKs, if they were just mild mannered educators?
