Mike McPadden is the only Constitutional conservative running in Virginia's 5th district. For those who are unfamiliar with the race: VA-5 is a 7-way GOP primary on June 8th, with the winner to face freshman incumbent Tom Perriello, who won in 2008 by only 700 votes. The district is traditionally conservative, and is rated R+5 on the Cook Index - in other words, the GOP nominee is likely to take the seat.

McPadden has been interviewed on Fox Business Network. He has been endorsed by Liberty Slate and www.liberty-candidates.org . He has thrown $200,000 of his own money into his campaign. He has broad support across the district, and has been holding meet-and-greet events all across the district for months now.

McPadden's website ( http://mcpaddenforcongress.com/ ) lists "Individual Liberty," "Constitutional Restraint," and "Sound Money" at the top of the main page. He has been married for 30 years and has 4 children. His platform is a principled Constitutional approach a la Ron Paul:

We have a little more than 2 weeks to propel his campaign to the top of this race in VA-5. This is a candidate that is principled and is in a winnable race. This is a candidate who should be a high priority among members of this forum.

I just donated $25 to the McPadden campaign:

Dear Matthew,

Your contribution of $25.00 was received. Thank you for your support!

I like him, and I love his definition of American Federalism.
