This isn't all that accurate as there will be multiple ballots for U.S. Senate.. CT-N is broadcasting live and they are not ending their coverage till 11pm and it also notes that they expect it to go much later. I expect it will over by midnight or so.

I am not sure, but I do not think so. I know that each candidate gets the chance to show a 3-minute video, and also a nominating speech and seconding speechs on their behalf, both given be two different delegates.

Yes, we have 3 other opponents. I am a Senior Advisor and soon to be Comm. Director for his campaign. The convention is going to be a Dan Debicella rah-rah party.. He will probably get 80% or so.. But Rick is going to primary and we will win the primary!

No. They are nominated by a delegate, then seconded by another delegate, then they get to play a short video. After that, voting begings. The candidate with a majority gets the party nomination and the honor of speaking to the convention. I know, it's lame.

No, there will be a primary. This decides the party endorsed candidate on the primary ballot.

Daamien
05-21-2010, 04:21 PM
So is this it? will this convention determine the nominee?

Not if a primary is forced by multiple candidates getting greater than 15% of the vote. For example, the breakdown could be 50% McMahon, 35% Simmons, 15% Schiff.

damiengwa
05-21-2010, 04:21 PM

so every candidate needs 15% to go to the primary, which i assume is a forgone conclusion that there will be a republican primary for senate.

No problem. :)
It is a closed primary. And yes, in order to get on the primary you must either get 15% or gather 8,000 or so signatures from Republicans in CT by June 8th to get on the primary. Yes, there will be a three-way primary.
