So they chose Congressman Joe Sestak?

Yeah, pretty bad.

Not that Sestak is any better, but this still gives Arlen Specter a great and ironic end to his political career.

True that.

Magic bullet Specter has needed to go for decades now.

Maybe Toomey will beat him.

It's a Neo-Con versus an Obamabot. Even if we win, we lose.

Absolutely ironic for Specter. He switches parties to stay in politics and loses in the Primary. Hilarious.

No tears here.

This is a victory.

Toomey should be an improvement. DeMint endorsed him a long time ago, which means he may actually be a fiscal conservative (who will vote against TARP, bailouts, Obamacare, etc).

I'm glad this SOB lost. I couldn't stand the way he treated people in the townhall meetings. He seems to be a slimball and doesn't stand for anything except for getting himself re-elected.

Toomey is not that bad, at least on fiscal issues. I believe many neo-cons are libertarian in their heart, and were neo-con only to follow Bush-Chaney.
as for Sestak, he got rid of Weldon (the Charlie Rangel of the Republican party), and now Spector

Cindy--I don't believe that many neo-cons are libertarian at heart. I think most neo-cons will do or say anything to get themselves elected a la Mitt Romney. This man is soulless

I was just reading Sestak's page, and he is about as bad as you can get. I'd sooner vote for Specter. Not only is Sestak pro-healthcare, typical tax-and-spend liberal, but he is also pro-war and avidly anti-gun (100% from the Brady Campaign).

Rand's victory proves a libertarian can win.
others will follow as they see it to be a safe position to take

Sestak is easier to beat

I am in PA. I think sestak is way way too liberal for this area. Toomey will beat him. Toomey just won his primary by a land slide.

Sestak is my rep. from the 7th district of PA. I do NOT like him. He is VERY far left and he sends these newsletters out every so often and i enjoy laughing at them and showing them the trash can. LOL!

No matter how bad Sestak or Toomey might be, I think getting rid of an incumbent in a primary sends a powerful message, and it reminds the newbie that they could be next in six years. It should be a lot easier to beat a one-term Senator than an entrenched lifetime Senator with seniority.

Not only that but he explicitly stated he was opposed to H.R. 1207, one of the only members of the House to take that stance. WHAT THE?!

They could have chosen Ted Kennedy's ghost. The important thing is Spectre is gone. Hopefully Sestak will lose in the general but even if he wins he comes in with no seniority and we don't have to hear Arlen Spectre's annoying voice anymore.

Dems also lose cabinet seniority positions held by specter. I'm not sure but it looks like a lot. There is a reason obozo supported him over sestak even-though sestak is more of a communist and more up obozos alley.

The only bad news of the day was rohrer losing to corbett, but rohrer needs to build more of a name for himself. bit off a bit more then he could chew.
