Controversial former GEICO voice over announcer releases emotional public service announcement "Don't Drunk Dial FreedomWorks," warning other FreedomWorks/Tea Party critics not to make the same mistake he did.

"If I can save just one person from doing what I did, then I will feel it was all worth it." - D.C. Douglas L. Baxterstein, Jr.

"Never Drunk Dial Freedom Works"

LMAO

Is everyone aware that Armey helped create the Department Of Homeland Security?

What the H -E-L-L was that?

That was coming from a some kind of twisted left/right, global warming embracing, pro-capitalist, I'm gay and hate Christians, small government, anti-GOP establishment, log cabin republican perspective, !?!?!?

If this was a Ron Paul ad, not one Republican (outside of the Revolution) would vote for him.

Pretty much sums up my thoughts.

I love the irony of a big-government liberal criticizing the idea of abolishing social security and medicare by sarcastically saying that she'd rather live off her childrens' last dime, as if that's not exactly what she'll be doing by allowing the government to continue the programs by accruing debts that her children will have to pay.

The only real difference between abolishing social security and continuing it, one would reason, is that in the former case, her children will actually have a choice about whether they want to support dear ol' mom.

organization that's headed by a man with 'Dick' in his name."

This guy is a 100% bigot. You can tell by his mocking someone for his name, a pretty amazing form of bigotry. I have found that the biggest bigots tend to dwell in the center-left area of politics. They use their African tokenism to convince themselves that their other numerous bigotries don't exist, or in the case of WOT and Zionism that their bigotries are somehow admirable.

I thought it was funny. While I don't agree with some of the content, I'm more than happy to leverage liberal anger at Freedomworks and Dick Armey to realigning the Tea Party movement away from Neocon philosophy.

It's pretty funny. Too bad it's sort of in bad taste. Would have received many more views and maybe more if it was cleaner.

Did I hear him correctly? He suggested that Tea Partyers were for redistribution of wealth.

(Somewhere around the middle part of the video). At 1:58 minutes - The Populist Party comment.

All the angry people in that video were disgusting.

I find this more confusing than anything else. That's why, for me, there are only two sides - those who believe in liberty and those who don't.

If this was a Ron Paul ad, not one Republican (outside of the Revolution) would vote for him.

This was most definitely NOT a Ron Paul ad. When they said that Ron Paul supporters wanted their tea parties back, they were just acknowledging that the tea parties started with Ron Paul supporters. They weren't saying that they, themselves, were Ron Paul supporters. They just see this co-opted movement for what it is.

Well, some in the fake co-opted tea party movement are.

Quote from page 2 of article in the second link above:

The couple, who rely on Medicaid for their health care, were also upset about the nation’s new health reforms.

When asked why her family used state-subsidized health care when she criticized people who take handouts, Valerie Shirk said she did not want to stop having children, and that her husband’s income was not enough to cover the family with private insurance.

“I know there’s a dichotomy because of what we get from the state,’’ she said. “But I just look at each of my children as a blessing.’’

The above is an example of a hypocritical tea partier who decries redistribution except when it's redistributed to herself. She should be allowed to have all the children she wants on her own dime.

Furthermore, it's people like them who make other people want to pass laws limiting the number of children you can have because they make other people pay for their health care.

FreedomWorks are a fiscal conservative group. How are they neocon?

FreedomWorks is closely tied to its founder, corporate lobbyist and former Republican Congressman and House Majority Leader Dick Armey. Armey's FreedomWorks co-opted the Tea Party movement from Ron Paul's supporters and has used well-known neoconservatives to "grow" the movement such as Palin, Beck, and even Hannity. I absolutely oppose what they have done, despite being a "fiscally conservative group".

Well, that and not feeding the money through a massive government bureaucracy, and having most of it stolen and sent to AIG.

Beck is on FreedomWork's frontpage, don't need to even bother going further to substantiate that claim.

As for Palin, she was paid to speak at the "Tea Party Convention" in Nashville hosted by Tea Party Patriots, which lists FreedomWorks as a co-partner and sponsor.

Tea Party Patriots’ listserv is managed by FreedomWorks staffer Tom Gaitens. Not only is the list managed by FreedomWorks, but Armey’s staffers had a final say on decisions such as the logo for the 9/12 event (heavily promoted by Beck and you guessed it, Hannity on Fox News).

FreedomWorks has co-opted the movement and allowed neocons to influence the message. Why should I trust Dick Armey, the guy was an establishment politician and a corporate lobbyist. I don't need his organization to oppose big-government.

"Folks, you've got to get to know this organization ... They have been doing a great job all over the country educating people."

I don't know about the rest of you but praise from George W. Bush is not something that endears me to an association.

Campaign For Liberty has also co-sponsored events with Freedom Works. Ron Paul considers Dick Armey an ally. That's good enough for me.

The rest is just unproductive noise. Co-opted the movement? LOL!

Armey called RP the conscience of the republican party. He has his problems but we will not get anywhere unless we can form coalitions with people that agree with us on most issues. Rand is where he is today because he formed a coalition with the likes of Palin, Demint, Dobson and Redstate. If the people that want to keep screaming NEOCON every chance they get and I am forced to chose an aliance, it will be with Armey over Schiff.

Wow. What crap! I started to feel sympathy for the Geico jerk until he went into his socialist manifesto and had the gall to attach Ron Paul's name to it. Yeah I'm ticked that the Tea Party has been taken over, but I don't embrace Global Warming (funded by the same polluters that they accuse of funding the "deniers") and anyone who can read knows that social security will soon be bankrupt (it's on the bottom of every social security statement you get). We need to make a response ad. Anybody want to help with the script?

If Freedom Works succeeds at its agenda this nation can finally return to the glory days of George W. Bush, where the limited-government provisions of the Constitution reigned supreme and our most cherished liberties were fiercely protected.

Oh wait...

Chairmen of the board yes, founder no. That is what I was disputing.

I clearly said I don't mind Beck, and thus don't mind the association.

FreedomWorks and C4L and YAL are partners, if FreedomWorks is damaged by association, are not those organizations as well?

I'm pretty sure FreedomWorks had nothing to do with that Convention, btw.

Like it or not, Armey's one of the best in Congress in the last several decades. He's not perfect, but he has already come around on foreign policy it seems.

I could care less about the attack on Freedom Works. It's the fact that this commercial goes against Ron Paul on just about every issue, but then sticks his name in there.

He drunk dialed, hahaha. Yeah if it's Ron Paul's moment, I'd kinda want it back. Why Fox, Beck, and Palin have become champions for liberty is beyond irritating. Also tell the old lady in the video to fuck off. Medicare and social security isn't gonna support you for poop.
