I ran across this on Digg and thought it would be useful for those whom this book is recommended.

Bumped for the morning crowd. No I will not serial bump this. :)

I just find it useful to have free political literature to pass on to friends.

FYI it is in the public domain.

I know, but most people probably don't realize this.

Great book. A must read for any liberty-minded individual.

I would think Animal Farm, also from Orhwell(sp), would be better.
1984, technilly(sp), should be spelled with letters but numbers are fine.
Animal Farm deals with how you get to a 1984 scenario.
1984 when you are already there.
I was thinking that people now do things similar to Winston to put food on the table.
A not-horrible life and their family are more important than not helping the gov't do bad things.

P.S. this is the third time is used the "(sp)" today.
Maybe I can't spell.

Animal Farm is available on the same website for free.

Many people may assume that Orwell's works aren't in the public domain because normally a work only passes into the public domain 70 years after the death of the author. In the case of Orwell, he died in 1950.
