The Establishment's Nightmare Come True
Posted by Lew Rockwell at October 11, 2007 10:58 AM

2,000 students gather to hear Ron Paul at a major university campus to cheer his antiwar eloquence. When he begins to discuss the monetary issue, they start chanting, spontaneously, "Gold, Gold, Gold," then light Federal Reserve dollar bills on fire, holding them up like candles in the night, a bonfire of Bernanke's vanities.

This is a bit much for the mainstream Republicans at this stage.

but that's who we need to convince... no other demographic has access to more FRNs than "mainstream" republicans.

They'll just print more money faster if you do this. Plus, it's illegal.

Donate them to Ron Paul.

Then let him "burn" the entire Federal Reserve. ;)

You could burn children's play money - looks real...

For what purpose? It will only make us look like nuts. Either that, or idiots.

I agree with donating them to Ron Paul instead. If 2,000 kids each burned a dollar, that's $2,000 that could go to Ron Paul! That's why I voted no and I would encourage all of my fellow forum members to vote the same.

Print phony dollar bills, exchange them for real dollar bills by the audience.

Donate the dollars to RP. Burn the phonies and say: Burn away inflation, vote for Ron Paul!

Exchange your $1 bills for $2 bill, hand them out with slim jims and flyers - and the quote from Thomas Jefferson in regards to the banking system.

Yeah. I don't think most people would understand the symbolism of burning federal reserve notes. I can see the headlines now, "Ron Paul's kook fundraising goes up in flames: ashes to ashes, dust to dust."

Donate until it hurts. I did. If you won't take on a little debt now for freedom, you might find the cost is higher when our kids pay the price to get it back later. This is our 1 chance and I have an uncanny feeling that we can actually win this thing. Tell others and get them to donate too.

Lovin' y'all

I voted yes, but I think there's a right time and place for it and wrong time and place. To me it makes a hell of a statement, what I call driving tacks with a sledge hammer. That's just me. On the other hand, I certainly would hold my desire to burn FRNs in check most of the time.

If anyone has any Federal Reserve notes they don't want, please PM me. Let me rid you of these pesky pieces of paper.

The Secret Service might have something to say about that.

They wouldn't if it was clear that the phony notes were not legal tender.

Burning federal reserve bills? What a ridiculous idea. I'd never even contemplate going that far. Wow.
