‘Powers That Be’ Hate Opposition

By Jim Traficant

Politics should be exciting, not inciting. Unfortunately, politicians have always used “buzz” words to incite, in spite of the possible negative and often dangerous impact to the American people. Do not mistake the fact that many of these politicians know exactly what they are doing and why they are doing it.

Let’s focus on recent remarks made by former President Bill Clinton. In a carefully, yet casually delivered message, the former president alluded to the “potential of civil violence,” such as the Oklahoma City bombing, that could emanate from so-called anti-government movements—evidently directed at the fed-up members of the tea party.

This type of political machination is designed to make a “subliminal” impact in the minds of the American people, to discourage support and participation in the tea party struggle.

Let’s assess this matter. Many of the people in the tea party movement had voted for Clinton. The tea party is, in essence, made up of both Democrats and Republicans, as well as independents. They are totally frustrated by the failure of both parties to address the core issues of America’s problems. It’s as simple as that.

The truth is, politicians are always encouraging the American people to become more active in politics. Get-out-the-vote campaigns, support your respective parties, get involved, transport voters to the polls, put up yard signs, host a house party and on and on and on.

Yet, when voters do get active and get involved, such as the tea party, now it’s too much, maybe even detrimental, many politicians are proclaiming.

Let’s tell it like it is: The politicians do not want any opposition. Period. They want to govern with a security blanket—and total acquiescence and acceptance. Parties—Democratic and Republican—want the American people to become more “active” in politics, but only if that “activism” is acceptable to their ivory towers.

The tea party is made up of patriotic Americans who are upset with the direction our government is taking: debt, open borders, more taxes, illegal immigration, government mandates, wars, government handouts, bigger federal government, international bankers, foreign aid, stupid trade policies and an erosion of individual liberty. They are not bigots, racists or malcontents. They are patriots.

It’s an erosion of individual liberty with a powerful central government coming at us.

Case in point: Arizona’s efforts to curb illegal immigration. Many politicians and mainstream media are castigating Arizonan officials for their attempts to protect their citizens. What don’t they understand about “illegal” immigration? Arizona is doing what the federal government should have done years ago. I support Arizona 100 percent.

I was a congressman who supported legislation passed in the House to “relocate” 10,000 troops from overseas to guard our borders. The Senate would kill it every time.

It’s simple, folks: Both parties are catering to the huge bloc of Hispanic voters to help them seize majority control of Congress.

What a joke: the Department of Homeland Security, advocating open borders? Illegal immigrants, narcotics and terrorists—yes, terrorists—running across our open borders. Do you think terrorists do not take advantage of this security travesty?

Just keep this in mind: All politicians oppose government debt, but we have it. All politicians oppose wasteful spending, but we have it. All politicians oppose budget deficits, but we have ’em. All politicians oppose big government, but we have it. All politicians oppose war, but we have it. All politicians oppose more taxes, but we have ’em. All politicians oppose poverty, but we have it. All politicians oppose socialism, but we have it. All politicians oppose illegal immigration, but we have it.

My father was a truck driver. He always said, “Don’t listen to what politicians say. Watch what they do.”

As the son of a truck driver, I say, “The politicians want every one of those things they claim to oppose. Otherwise, they would have done something about it.”

As for former President Clinton, he wasn’t known as “Slick Willie” for nothing. Think about it and get back at me!

Bad idea. Good thing it was defeated.

One of the big problems in our country today is that they are militarizing the Police, and misusing the Military as Police (in other countries).
