Read some of the comments. They're still flummoxed. What's even more frightening is that Rand's influence is growing with each passing day.

Best line:
The amazing thing about Rand Paul's willingness to throw McConnell overboard in favor of a right-winger like DeMint is that his motivation doesn't appear to be retribution for McConnell's endorsement of Grayson. Rather, Rand Paul actually thinks McConnell is too liberal.

God forbid the GOP actually have a right-winger as Senate leader.....

even in blue parts of the country, I saw all kinds of Ron Paul signs popping up before all other signs in like 2007. I still see some of them around.

I think the Paul family must have stock in a Sign company as they sure as hell have tons of signs and bumper stickers...tons of them everywhere.

:D

You'll like this one.

This just scares the hell out of me. It's one thing if the Democrat in the race can actually win, but if we get a few of these nutjobs winning their Senate races, the GOP can destroy this country. And in a very short time span.

Hmmmmm. How can we destroy anything that's hopelessly broken?

They're just calling him crazy and such, it's just like reading Hot Air...as fucking usual. There's even one guy on there calling Paul a 'homophobic theocrat' based on his 'record' that 'everyone ignores'! Next thing you know they'll call him a socialist.

Man. There went my weekly/monthly quota of Kos-reading. I can only read so much before the rage just becomes unhealthy. So I stop.

I find it refreshing when I see that some of the Kossacks fear Rand Paul like he's some sort of mythical beast immune to injury. They're honestly concerned with this no-frills conservative approach. Yes, Rand Paul and his merry men are coming to dismantle their institutions of tyranny.

I like how someone posted a video of Rand Paul talking about how Congress needs to read the bills, we need balanced budgets, term limits, constitutional authority. He talks about how these issues are bi-partisan.

YouTube - Dr. Rand Paul Fox News Neil Cavuto 5-10-2010 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7KUOYMlcgZw)

What is the upvoted comment in response to the video?

and that is some batshit crazy.

Just ad-hominem attacks.

I keep seeing comments calling Ron and Rand homophobic theocrats because of Ron's Sanctity of Life Act. I have to wonder if the people that post that are truly fucking nuts or something.

Ron has cross-over appeal so they have to denigrate him.

I swear Markos must have purged all the rational posters from that site once Obama got elected.

It's actually just one guy.

He says the Sanctity of Life Act would result in abortion being criminalized, and that it doesn't support states' rights. Except it does, as that's the whole point of it is to remove federal jurisdiction.

DailyKos doesn't like Rand Paul? They'd rather have a neoconservative than a libertarian Senator????? Wow, I would have thought the opposite...

Supposedly Markos is a CIA operative and loves playing up the COINTELPRO. Either that or he's just a devious fuckwad who loves the Red Team/Blue Team bullshit he and his circle-jerk group love to spout.

I feel bad who get angry about this stuff, as I've evolved to the point where I find it all highly entertaining.

Fair enough, but if enough of them work themselves up, to the extent that it is unhealthy, they could get some first hand experience of Obamacare.:)

I'm guessing that they know Rand will be much more electable than the Democratic challenger exactly because Rand does have crossover appeal.

From this article and its replies, it seems at least Dems and established Republicans are united by one issue.
That is, stop Rand Paul by any means necessary.
The establishment and the sheeple are in shock!
They are pulling all the stops desperately.

They are just po'ed that Rand has more staying power than they ever will. Daily Kos is irrelevant in every sense other than that they are a punch line for jokes about the absolute lunacy of the far left blogosphere. They have have no major media exposure other than on PMSNBC, and PSMNBC only has 2 viewers.

The homophobic slurs began shortly after the stunt Sacha Baron Cohen pulled on RP.
