Free at last, thank god almighty I'm free at last.

I finally (8 months after submitting my resignation) got my separation orders. I am officially no longer a soldier.

WTF is this. This is how you make your first post calling out an established poster for no reason? Not a great way to introduce yourself.

Congrats Icy.

What, did you want me to post a scan image of my orders so you could get my full name and social security number for use in an identity theft ring?

Sorry, I didn't have time for that.

Don't worry about it, looks like a subtle spammer to me.

Congrats.

Glad to see you go out.

I feel guilty that recently I've been having thoughts of enlisting myself due to the desperate job situation here and just hating where I live. I don't think it's worth becoming a slave for 4 years though..

Move to NH -- there are basic job openings popping up all the time!! Unemployment in NH is one of the lowest in the nation, at 7%.

Definitely don't become a hired gun for the state.

At ease solider. Your training will serve patriotism now much more than it could overseas. Be ready and god help us all.

I felt empowered using my name directly in the past, yet now more and more I feel it's time to take a protective non SS relation title for personal protection against what is to come. Maybe it's time to change my posting name on this forum. :(

Start a militia unit - there is a real need for men with active duty experience as officers.

Defending liberty and the Constitution never ceases.

Thought about it. Prefer to keep a low profile. My state has a state guard all volunteer unpaid force I've thought about joining. Then maybe I can recruit a local company and have the support of my state, rather than being labelled an extremist.

I have been an Active Duty enlisted MP 2years, commissioned Cavalry Scout platoon leader 8 months, Armor Platoon leader 11 months, Infantry Company XO 8 months, and 12 months as a maintenance and logistics officer at the end of my Active Duty. As a Reservist, I have been a Basic Training, Deployment training, and Joint Operations training officer 3 years. The remainder of my time has been in various transition schools. IET/AIT, OCS, AOBC, CCC, NBC, CLS, AA, CWLC, SLC, UMOC, and a few others.

I have a total of 10 years service.

Ironically, when I left Active duty in 2005, and when I submitted my resignation to the reserves in 2009, my senior rater was the same guy both times.

FTR: I am not a registered member of Oathkeepers, but I am 100% in support.

Too late. "we" are already labeled.
Better to embrace it, then change hearts and minds locally.

best of luck with whatever you chose. :)

Understand your thinking and agree with the goal. In my state, the State Guard is unarmed and is a civil defense type organization made up of ex military and wanted to be military who never were for some reason. While providing a useful service after hurricane or tornado, it is not a "fighting" organization.

I decided to "embrace the suck" FWIW.
