Do you think it's possible to get a 30 second spot durring the superbowl this year (well next year)?

No.
Money can be spent in much better ways.

Are you kidding me? That would be 1/5th of our cash.

Last year it was $2.6Million for 30 seconds.

It will probably be a little higher this year. That's half of Q3's numbers gone in 30 seconds. I don't think that's effective.

Are we talking about raising cash through something like Operation NH? Heck, I'd give to that even beyond what I am already giving to the campaign.

Just to play Devil's advocate, here....

Is the Super Bowl before the NH primary?

Think about this now - This would KILL the "Ron Paul can't win" idea in most people's heads; Super Bowls ads are as big as it gets.

and....

The Patriots will likely be in the Super Bowl again this year. I hate to seem cocky, but c'mon! Tom Brady throwing to Randy Moss. Season over. LOL. :)

NH will be tuned in BIG TIME to a Patriots Super Bowl. If it's right before the primary, it could be a HUGE score!

I don't think they accept political ads anyway, do they?

The campaign can target key primary states like New Hampshire with 2.5 million dollars a lot more effective than it can with a 30 second ad in the super bowl.

Let's get Mark Cuban on this! ;)

Well a maybe 5 second "Who's Ron Paul?" blip with "RonPaul2008.com" in the corner.

Have the opening coin toss a gold standard ron Paul coin. Ron Paul's face on the front is heads, a picture of the constitution on the back is tails.

"The coin toss is brought to you by....ronpaul2008.com"

The Pats cheat! They would be anything without their insiders tipping them off on the opposing team's plays.

Yeah, they got bagged big-time. LOL.

But you THINK that'd be more closely watched now, and they're still 5-0 this season so far.

However, my point being they will likely be there and atracting a lot of NH viewers.

Not to hijack or anything... but those sound like sour grapes :) You're going to chalk up a 5-0 record and 3 superbowls to some taping we were accused of once? I know the entire NFL fears the New England Patriots... but it's for good reason.. we kick ass :)

the Superbowl is February, the primaries will likely be decided by then.

For exposure to 90 Million people, plus post game highlights of the commercials, it might be well worth the 2-3 mil.

Thats exposure to about 2/3 the total number of voters.

Feb. 3 is the Superbowl-2 days before Super Tuesday. The ad would have to be REALLY good to stand out among the other ads being shown. But it might help.

Isn't the super bowl after Feb 5th anyways?

edit:
never mind :D

I agree. Done properly, this could have a tremendous impact. From what I hear, there's a few people out there that watch the Superbowl. And there's even more that watch it just for the commercials. Of course, I think we should try to do it as a "chip in" and not use campaign funds. Can you imagine? That would be one heck of a chip in! :D
