You have three to four generations that have been brainwashed with the myth that Joe McCarthy was some kind of despotic monster. Take for example the recent Clooney film on Edward R. Murrow and the McCarthy saga. The findings of Venona largely vindicated him, but the liberals cower in fear and stick their fingers in their ears when you bring up the Venona intercepts.

Furthermore, the late professor Carroll Quigley stated in no uncertain terms that many of the so-called communists were not even communists, but rather one-world agents. Their job of course was to lay down the foundations for centralization in certain locales resistant to this particular strain of oppression.
