Now that the DeMint endorsement of Rand Paul and the McConnell endorsement of Trey Grayson have soaked into the bluegrass political landscape, the question is this: whose did more good?

I think we now know.

Rand Paul is starting the last week of the Kentucky primary 16 points ahead of Trey Grayson.

I may need to get up to Bowling Green next week for this.

it would be cool to meet him @ Rand's victory party and thank him for the support.

Absolutely-- and he should get the VIP treatment because he has been a Very Important Person in promoting Rand Paul to key grassroots conservatives. I hope someone close to the campaign will read this, reach out and make this happen.

Rebuilding ties that shouldn't have been frayed in the first place is a big point of this entire campaign for me. A personal touch does wonders. Witness John Hawkins of Right Wing News who endorsed Rand, after savaging Ron in 2008, in no small part, I suspect, because Ron gave him a good interview earlier this year.

People in the liberty movement aren't always going to agree with Erick or the Red State crowd. For that matter I don't always agree with the liberty movement or Red State crowd.

But folks like Erick, with whom we have many points of agreement and who are honest and sincere in their desire for reform, are the sorts of people we need to be working with if we want to build this movement into a real and substantial political force that elects many candidates to office. 80% our friend is 80% or friend-- not 20% our enemy.

If we remember that, we are going to do very well.

BTW Note the nice New York Times profile of Erick yesterday

They did to Ron over 30 years what they just tried to do to Rand. Perhaps, having seen it from the other side, his mind will be more open.

But I'm pretty sure he can celebrate with the father of the 'winner' he picked, and have fun. It isn't as if Ron won't be busy with other people.
