in Utah, DeMint has endorsed him and to me it looks like he has made the right choice.

I was wondering who the Liberty Candidate was after the incumbent was cast down.

Mike Lee is pretty solid. Once he's in there, we can start working on getting Jason Chaffez to knock of Orin Hatch in 2012!!!

Yes Orrin is running scared - he actually voted correctly on the Audit the Fed bill yesterday. Bennett of course is a lame duck and voted "Nay"...all of his tears about possibly casting some "toxic" votes - guess he decided on a scorched earth exit strategy.

The more the merrier, but let's not forget about Schiff.

What's his stance on foreign interventionism?

What's his stance on foreign interventionism?

I found this on his issues page. To me, his foreign policy sounds friendly to non-interventionism and not neocon.

A core constitutional function of the federal government is to “insure domestic tranquility” by protecting our country. We maintain peace and freedom when our national defense is strong. We must continue to develop sophisticated, cutting-edge tools and weaponry to defend our citizens from threats of terrorism. We must have clear objectives when we place our brave men and women of the Armed Forces in harm's way. Once engaged, we cannot tie the hands of our military with unnecessary rules of engagement. When our objectives are achieved, we must bring our troops home.

He also wants to term limit senators to at most one re-election.

From a neocon site that's blasting him for this comment:

"Mike Lee: The few powers that are actually given to the federal governments need to be exercised forcefully, carefully and without reservation…Foreign policy needs to be focused on protecting the homeland from attack, not on nation building. I'm concerned with reports that I am hearing from Afghanistan in particular that we may have 100 or fewer active militant Taliban in Afghanistan…If that is true, I ask the question: what on earth are we doing subjecting our brave men and women who need to be supported to that kind of danger, day in and day out, if they have as many thugs there as we have right here inUtah county?"

I was suggesting on grassroots central that we should make a subforum for him and other libertarians. How about it?

Wow, sounds like he is an authentic Conservative on Foreign Policy, as opposed to a Foreign Policy Liberal (aka, neoconservative).

Seems like another cross-over candidate. Managing to appeal to both Constitutionalists and neo-conservatives.

If Dan Riehl is blasting Mike Lee, Mike Lee must be doing something right. I do not sure Riehl's leftist "worldview" RE foreign policy.

Hrm, Rick Santorum endorsed him, I don't much care for that.

His FEC donations list is interesting:
