Schiff has said repeatedly that he would not support anyone who doesn't show strict support for the Constitution and what the Founders meant it should be, a restraint for government.

I despise him, but Mark Kirk gave a great statement on her: "There is a confirmation process for a reason. I will wait until I hear what she has to say, then I will make my mind up. Senators should not be jumping to her support or against her just yet."

the SC is different. there can be a bandwagon effect led by Graham/Lieberman.

Schiff, being Jewish, and from the Northeast, and saying he would vote NO could have an effect on fence sitting Rep senators

Schiff has said that he would've voted against all judges except Bork, the Reagan nominee who didn't get confirmed.
