FYI, SKYTRUTH has estimated about 1.1 million gallons/26.5k barrels per day: http://blog.skytruth.org/

It would have been better if the Coast Guard had completely exploded the entire platform. At least rain eventually filters out smoke and soot, while this muck will be in the water for years.

Worst case estimate is that we're already pushing 50,000,000 gallons, and the latest attempt to stop it has failed. The next question might be not HOW we can stop it, but how many gallons left until it runs dry...

Well, 50,000,000 gallons is only 909,090 barrels.
