View Full Version : States Talking Succession

It seems many states are considering Secession to get away from alot of the Neo-conservatives. Whom do you think would be the most likely to secede, and how many?

My vote goes to Vermont. They've been talking about it more than any other state.

There is a lot of anger nation wide. I don't see succession as an answer, but I have heard it spoken of. There are several things that could kick off another civil war.
The need for change is apparent.
That is why I am working to get Ron Paul elected. And we need more like him in every state and office.
I want the revolution to be a peaceful one.

it's secede, not succeed. Secession seems more and more likely every day (yet, still distant IMHO).

Note, if the central government declares war on a seceding state, it is not technically a civil war. A civil war is fought to gain/retain control of the central government apparatus. A war waged against a seceding state is a war against their independence.

Oops.
Points taken. I still want to see a peaceful correction of the situation.
The alternative is painful to think about.

The alternative is why the 2nd amendment was included, and is so important.

Oh, so you guys are the Ron Paul monarchists I've heard so little about recently? Just kidding, guys.

Do you mean secession? Because nothing succeeds like success. Succession is what happens when the king dies.

Sorry, it's not easy being this obsessive-compulsive.

Isn't Alaska another state with a group pushing secession?

Here's my take on how to fix the country if all other avenues have been exhausted (and believe me, we are basically down to 1 last avenue)

Get 100,000 people to exercise their right to bear arms and their freedom of assembly and head to DC

I would think a small state like vermont would be the most likely.

I'd love for CT, CA, and VT to all secede... that would be a lot less Socialists in the USA to have to fight against!

Anyway, here's the NH one:

And just in case you missed it, hundreds of small-government activists are descending on NH, running for office, and getting elected already...

I hope this is a joke. It's posts like this that will get men in black vans showing up at your house.

There's probably nothing they would love more so they can bring in their Marshall law

You're right, I was just joking around.

Let's all just sit back and watch how effective calling and letter writing works. Its worked wonders so far.

That's what our Founding Fathers told us to do, right? Write letters!

2 people died equates to 100,000 would die today, with the communications we have today, with the military stretched to it's max?

Since I am a Texan, perhaps I have 2 chances of Ron Paul as my president in 2009...

I've got an extra bedroom I could rent out for any of you Vermont folks...

Awesome retort. Black Vans and helicopters aside, I'm not about to throw this option out. But anyone looking to violently rebel would have to be smart about it. A violent revolution would have to involve guerrilla tactics, much like the Boston Tea Party. Hell, look how well its working for the insurgents in Iraq. Can you imagine the effect on the American people? I'm not suggesting blowing our own population up, but empty buildings, etc...

Anyone who throws this option off the table "no matter what" is destined to be a slave. There has to be some point where you say enough is enough...
