I googled Ron Paul vs. Obama 2012 and came across this thread on "The Straight Dope". The OP in the thread is trying his hardest to convince the rest of the posters that RP is the only one with a shot of defeating Obama in 2012. However, virtually everyone else disagrees with him, so he has been defending himself against a bunch of people.

I think this thread is worth reading, if only to gain constructive criticism on what does and does not work when trying to expose others to Ron Paul and his message. The more information we have to help us with preparations and strategy, the better.

I especially love the people who say "RP's moment has come and gone." When was his moment again exactly? Back when no one knew who he was? Now that he's a household name, suddenly his moment is over?

Even if he never runs for office again, RP's moment hasn't arrived yet. When his son becomes a Senator, that's his moment. When the movement that has built up around him elects a President, whether it's him or not, that's his moment.

But, honestly, I just love the debate. I love people thinking its very important to prove logically that Romney has a better chance, based on hard numbers. No one would have felt that necessary a couple years ago. The biggest evidence of our success is that now, they take him seriously as a threat.

So let 'em talk. Let 'em keep saying he has no chance. Let the attacks come. It's so obvious that we're winning that we don't need to win internet forum arguments anymore to know we have a chance.

To those naysayers, his moment was probably November and December 2007, when his google hits went through the roof and his moneybombs occured.

I've read the comments on that board, and goodness, they are all despicable statists. That jrodefeld person sure has a lot of patience, I can never put in so much effort to reason with such assholes.

They are in serious denial.
People are waking up even as we speak.
Ron paul's momentum is building.
The establishment SOBs can't stop us this time.

For some reason that made me think of this movie quote from Platoon Leader... (paraphrased)_

We're in the idea business - if you can't get the thought right in here (points at head) if you can't put the ideas into their head - you put one of these (shows bullet) in their bodies It won't influence them, but it will sure bring the neighbors around to your way of thinking.
