That's a GOP district according to abcnews. He SHOULD win the general, but expect the Dem to get help from Wall Street.

He needs money. Last time he ran, he had to run on a shoestring because he wasn't able to generate significant financial support. He did remarkably well, considering he was financially limited. http://query.nictusa.com/cgi-bin/cancomsrs/?_08+H8NC04074

I suspect he won't get much help from the RNC because he is running against an incumbent.

Yes! His major competition during that primary was Augustus Cho, who now runs a Tae Kwon Do school and ran a failed campaign to become the mayor of chapel hill, and branded Lawson as "Ron Paul Jr".
