Got this from the Roche campaign(I like to keep tabs on the enemy). So many half truths in here it's embarrassing to him. Notice anyone who does not label Obama a "socialist" is not a republican, or basically un-american to Frank. Enjoy reading.

What matters? Party allegiance, Commitment & Certainty

It’s clear from the campaign William (BJ) Lawson ran in 2008 and the campaign he is running now in 2010, he is not interested in being a Republican. Mr. Lawson has a strong progressive theme to his campaign and can more properly be labeled a progressive Libertarian. Mr. Lawson has repeatedly stated a Republican cannot beat David Price, but he can. Can we assume therefore Mr. Lawson does not consider himself a Republican?

His policy positions reveal more of the same:

Mr. Lawson is a non-interventionist. He rejects preemptive military efforts, saying it’s “a very slippery slope.” He holds the belief that the conduct and use of the U.S. military should be based on what he was taught in a North Carolina concealed carry class. He suggests the rules he learned in his concealed carry class should be how we protect ourselves from other countries who wish Americans harm and death. When it comes to our allies he again appeals to his concealed carry class and the defense of innocents as a guide to our foreign policy, comparing the long running conflict between Israel and the Palestinians to that of the “Hatfield’s vs. McCoy’s.” This is not a sufficiently serious position on foreign policy, and certainly not the stance of a true Republican. Follow this link: NC Freedom Debate, scroll to sections on “military” and “national defense.”

Mr. Lawson believes that the past 100 years of American free enterprise is a fraud. This belief aligns him more closely with President Obama’s disdain for America.

Mr. Lawson wants to eliminate the Federal Reserve banking system and our system of credit creation. He proudly proclaims “The Federal Reserve is the greatest fraud and confidence game ever perpetrated on the American people.” Mr. Lawson says “the Fed is literarily an engine for wealth destruction,” and he further proclaims, “the Fed is a 97 year failed experiment in legalized counterfeiting.” Such an anti-American view our proud history is not what we want or need in those representing the 4th district in Congress. His rejection of American free enterprise is more in line with the beliefs of liberal Democrats. Follow this link: NC Freedom Debate, scroll to section on “Federal Reserve.”

Mr. Lawson is the President of the Board of Trustees for the PLENTY, a currency he has helped establish to compete with our own U.S. dollar right here within our own borders. His participation in this currency creation also points out the hypocrisy of his stated allegiance to the U.S. Constitution which is the basis of the federal republic.

When asked if he believes President Obama’s policies are socialist, and he says no, it again reveals a man to be less aligned with Republicans and more so with liberals; click here (William (BJ) Lawson with Max Keiser). <<This led to the Keiser interview, wont work on my post.

The Republican party doesn’t need any more Republicans in name only - RINO’s.

Mr. Lawson’s decision making process calls into question his commitment to North Carolina’s 4th district congressional race. Since May 2009 he has twice announced his intentions not to run for the 4th district congressional seat, and twice his intentions to run. This is not a strong indication of a man committed to helping the people of the 4th district.

When faced with a real Republican challenger in 2010, Mr. Lawson has changed his positions on important issues held dear by Republicans and begs the question of his certainty on those issues.

LOL

That was the best ever letter in SUPPORT of an opponent I have seen.

Far from being a hit piece, this would make me RUN, not walk, to vote for Lawson. :D

Frank never really understood the district. He was surrounded and advised by people who hated BJ from 2007. His own narcissism, arrogance and creepiness certainly didnt help. I spoke to a lot of goppers and they were not happy with Roche at all. In fact if i had a dollar for every person who told me "He's no BJ Lawson" i would be retiring. So when BJ flung his hat in the ring there was only going to be one winner.
