ATLANTA (AP) - Federal agents say they have arrested 596 immigrants with criminal records during a three-day immigration enforcement sweep across the Southeast.

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials said Friday that the operation, dubbed Operation Cross Check, was the largest ever conducted by the agency targeting foreign nationals convicted of crimes. They said the immigrants have already served their sentences and authorities will now seek to deport them.

Atlanta ICE Field Director Felicia Skinner says that "communities around the Southeast are safer than they were before" as a result. She said three of the people arrested this week had been convicted of murder and 144 were convicted on assault charges.

I don't trust anything the AP writes, or anything ICE does. It was ICE that through an trucker in jail in AZ, and the MSM jumped on that story to make it appear as though it was the new AZ law.

The United States is a middle class couple paying a plumber to fix their kitchen sink, which has sprung a massive leak in the drain and into the cabinet underneath. To make matters worse the faucet is stuck on at full blast. The plumber's bright idea is to catch the water in the cabinet with a bucket, but when the bucket fills, he has no time to run somewhere else and dump the water... so he dumps it back into the sink. Of course, the water just comes back out through the drain and he rushes to catch it in the bucket. Each time, water still sloshes out, gets into the wood, gets on the floor, and generally makes the whole place a mess.

Why's the plumber doing this? Well, essentially, he is "fixing" the problem, since he is catching the water leaking out of the drain... AND he is disposing of that water... but he can't stop doing what he's doing, nor is he in a hurry to do so. After all, he's getting paid by the hour. People can shout ideas at him until they're blue in the face, and even offer to help, but this plumber is now stubbornly in charge of the kitchen sink and informs those helpers that he can only use the help of trained assistants.

Sending the illegals down the drain just dumps most of them back here a little dirtier, a little poorer, and gives them one more shot to get in with the cartels that are going to continue to make things miserable.
