The Courier-Journal let Grayson respond to their non-endorsement of him in the GOP primary against Rand Paul.
Reader Letter | Unendored Senate candidate replies
The Courier-Journal argued in a recent editorial that it cannot recommend a Republican candidate for U.S. Senate to Kentucky voters. Given the paper's views, that's welcome news.
I stand by my strongly pro-life stance and conservative values, especially when it comes to limiting federal government spending, reducing the federal deficit, balancing the budget, ending the bailouts, and unwinding government ownership of private businesses.
To restore our nation's fiscal health, we must reject the liberal tax and spend agenda of Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid and Barack Obama. Let's reject job killing cap and trade energy policies, increased taxes and record borrowing. Let's support regulatory certainty, lower taxes, reduced spending and economic growth.
Additionally I'm the candidate in this race who has consistently supported a strong national security policy to stay on offense against our enemies. On May 18 I ask for your vote in the Republican primary.
TREY GRAYSON
"Given the paper's views, that's welcome news."
That statement right there takes a lot of gall to say considering I remember very distinctly Grayson specifically asking for the paper's endorsement at the end of his interview with the Courier-Journal editorial board. Anybody have that clip?
