View Full Version : Facebook Collecting Massive Amounts of Info

Has anyone posted this before?


All, some of you are already aware of this happening. I have learned in the past hour that FB is loggin posts from our sites and comments to others on remote sites with specific keywords.

Visit http://www.facebook.com/note.php?note_id=121889841158100&id=116714515020277&ref=mf to see a list of links or view links below to see specific keywords from only a small list. I have verified that it is logging me and several of you that are on my friends. Me and some friends have tested and when the comments are deleted, they do remove from the page but keep in mind FB is archiving all posts. Also, we have found no location that allows us to block the sites at all.

The people who put their every bowel movement on the internet should have known better, now the government is going to play up the privacy issue to help along the idea of government regulation and control.

They need to whip up the 'government save me' crowd first.

Didnt a few statist senators just send them a letter telling them theyre privacy settings are too confusing, or something? Cant wait til Facebook is nationalized.

FaceBook Is A Snitch; It Tells Everything I Do; and other people too; what if i was hiding from the FBI or something; what isnt going to say Lonni Dee Rowe is in hiding from the FBI; ugh; facebook is stalkish!

I disabled my facebook. Not because they are collecting info, but because it was taking over my life and I needed to study for finals. Although, I think I'm just addicted to the internet in general. Now I have just replaced my facebook time with more rpf time. Damnit, lulz.

Well the info is already public record with all the people posting it anyway.

You can edit your settings but it can be confusing. Facebook is a private company and that data is worth a lot of money. They want to compete with Google, Microsoft and the rest of the big boys.

Bottom line: Don't post anything on Facebook you wouldn't want your wife, girlfriend, employer, or government to know. Or delete your account.

i deleted mine as well, changed my name, deleted all photos and all private info. FB sober for 2 weeks now, maybe three?

It was weird at first... Like I'd be doing homework on the computer and every 15 minutes, I'd be like, "I should check my facebook! oh wait... I can't." Lol. I was able to pay attention in class better because I couldn't be on facebook on my phone the whole time anymore. haha. :o

if you liek stalking your friends, just have it on your phone, you wont get to type much, but you get to watch.

dude yea, i was that addicted too. but i dropped FB for RP, lol. at least i am informed now.
