Heres the article summarizing the event.

The Warren County Meet-up Banner “Factory” as it’s being called now was, filled with paint fumes and great conversation. It was a productive day of true grassroots campaigning which was the result of the great fellowship of Ron Paul supporters from the Stroudsburg PA and Warren County meet-up groups. By the time the sun set, over thirty Ron Paul Revolution banners as well as a few extra signs had been completed. While Matt, a college student whose dedication and leadership was instrumental in organizing Ron Paul supporters in Stroudsburg was spray painting banners, John, a veteran from the Iraq war, was keeping pace, grommeting each banner as it was drying.

Dave, the diligent organizer of the Warren County group, helped get the cycle rolling by taking each person on the tour of this ‘factory” so that many banners could be produced in an efficient manner. Pat, who donated banner material, and Nick, who helped unite these two groups together, were both on hand to keep the conversations interesting and the spirits up. Let’s not forget Alvin, Pat’s dog. He somehow made it all seem relaxed and not so formal. It was a day of true camaraderie, where people of different backgrounds have put their hearts and souls into what they believe. There is truly hope: if this small group can accomplish so much and have fun doing it, we can only imagine how much grassroots support across the country has unified people, and made them believe as well.

Awesome job!!!!

What other candidate has people out there working for free? NOBODY!!! They have to pay their supporters to even say their name in public. How sad.

P.S. Alvin needs to cut down on the Beefcake 2000 tablets. Maybe take him with you guys when youre out spreading the RP message and get that poor dog some excercise. Cool dog though. Any dog that is a Ron Paul supporter is good by me.

Once again, great job.

Awesome! Looks like a good time. Every banner factory needs a mascot. The dog is perfect :D

And I love seeing peoples setups. We're trying to get something set up around hazleton. For now, it's just 2 tables and a couple paper stencils in amy's garage.

Love for Ron in the Garden State.. Awesome.

My bro and I work in Woodbridge, and right at the exit going onto Main Street - a Ron Paul 2008.com sign taped to the telephone pole.

I'm literally thinking what might be really good would be to slim jim all the cars at commuter parking lots!!! Professionals, money makers - hey, no one is there during the afternoon to stop people...

Thanks, will do! :D

And yeah, she bought thousands of yard signs, buttons, bumper stckers, you name it. So if you need anything else, just let one of us know.

We're going to have to get some of those spraypaint cans with the trigger handle thing. Wish i would have thought of that.

Our biggest problem is finding a place to let the banners dry. Anytime we lay them on the driveway or the grass, they blow away... Even with rocks on the corners. Always windy down here.

Well, I only thought of it because when we came back from work today and I was in the lot, there was something on my window - it was an ad for a construction co.. (thought it was a ticket)

But then I thought - you know, something as classy looking as a slim jim would (maybe) go over better than a full piece of neon colored paper saying come to the psychic in town or whatever.

But you have to admit, all day those cars are sitting there... Broad reach, and what if you reach 5 or 10 of the people a month! Better than none!

Gradient
10-10-2007, 09:09 PM
yeah, I was torn on it . slim jims do look better than a one color-sheet and its easy to spread the word that way but we might not want to risk being thought of negatively.

see the new thread on a c"new easy grassroots idea" for a classier more presentable way to use slim jims

Seem like a lot of mixed feelings on this. We've done it 3 times, and we've never found any on the ground afterwards... And occassionally see someone reading it before driving away. We've only tried it a few times, but didn't see any negative reactions.

That said, no one else in the Meetup will even try it because they're convinced it will piss everyone off.

I'm planning on hitting a few Church lots with the statement of Faith this weekend. We'll see how that goes.

Phenom24

I personally think it depends on the person. Some people just think "Oh what is this crap" but some people think "Ok, what is this..."

Ever have someone drop a restaurant menu on your doorstep? For me, it's like "Well, let's see if they have anything good...."

I guess in my case being a "reader" I'm optimistic. You could say the same thing (being taken negatively) about people handing slim jims out to people walking by in the city because people hand out those porn cards in the city as well....

Matter of perspective, I guess. I spent my own $$ on the slim jims and if one or two (or ten, hopefully) say "So THAT'S who that guy is" I would be psyched at my return on investment.

quickmike
10-10-2007, 09:18 PM
I would say go ahead and put the slim jims on the cars. Ask yourself, would a person likely to take Ron Pauls message to heart get mad enough to not vote for him just because something got stuck on their car? I dont think so. If anything, someone that hasnt heard of him that likes what they see on the slim jim will probably want to thank you for it.

I say do it!!!

Speaking of NJ if anyone can help us out, we are in the process of getting a hold of a DVD duplicator, it's stuck at 45%. Soon we'll be able to turn NJ from Blue to Red for Ron Paul, Stroudsburg gets to benefit from this too, we're practically neighbors sharing the Delaware River :D

http://ronpaulnewjersey.com/?page_id=60

This will help alot with getting the word out, nothing like hearing the message from the main himself. Thanks!

Great Job Stroudsburg and Warren Meetups! Wish I could have been there looks like you guys had fun.

if I had a job, and was earning more a month than i actually need to survive, I'd donate to the DVD duplicator for sure. its a good cause because there is nothing quite like hearing his platform as HE puts it.

I'm sure you folks in NJ can all help out a bit. We're half way there. Once we're there we'll be able to practically manufacture these DVD's.

Sorry I couldn't be there yesterday to help you guys, looks like a fun time was had. I'll try to make the next one, for sure.

What is sad is that Alvin's owner has been blocked from joining this forum. WTF is up with that?

So, who is the one responsible for rejecting memberships to this forum and what is the purpose of shutting people out? Come on, we are supposed to be bringing people on board for Ron Paul!

Haha, AWESOME! We just did 2 overpasses (one on 80, one on 81) and then a bunch of signs along rt 80.. it wasn't an official banner blitz. Just me, amy, and her mom went out the one night putting them up.

We're in the southern part of Luzerne county. Amy lives right off of 80 around where 80 and 81 meet, and I'm down the road a few miles.

actually, that's one thing the campaign has requested we not do. Don't use the official site on any "questionably" posted sign or banner. It's a CYA thing. Some of ours still have the site, but we usually try to use an unofficial URL on our banners.
