I just took the Political Compass Test, to see where I fall in with Political Affiliation. I'm not positive with the accuracy of this, since I personally identify myself as a Moderate leaning Right. It's nice to see that it shows me leaning toward Anarchism, and Ghandi.

Here's the political affiliation of some world leaders, historic, and present:

I used to be a huge fan of the Political Compass, but I've since come to have a lot of reservations about its potential accuracy, since many of the questions in the quiz are more indicative of personal preference and even personality type than political philosophy per se. For example, there's one that says something to the effect of, "the industrialist and the entrepreneur are more important to society than the artist and the poet." Not sure what that possibly has to do with politics strictly speaking, unless in the very vague and stereotypical sense that most people have for left-wingish people being more "artistic" than their counterparts.

I took this, and it says I'm a Libertarian, and shows Barry Goldwater, Michael Badnarik, and Ron Paul's pictures.

Conservative/Progressive score: 2
You are a social conservative. You believe in traditional values, and care first and foremost about your country, your family, and your religion. You dislike the agenda of the left because you see them as trying to destroy these things.

http://politicalquiz.110mb.com/score/score_6.jpg
Capitalist Purist/Social Capitalist score: 6
You are a Moderate Capitalist. You support an economy that is by and large a free market, but has public programs to help people who can't help themselves or need a little help. Pretty much you believe in the American economy how it currently is.

Libertarian/Authoritarian score: 0
You are libertarian. You think that the government is making way too many unnecessary laws that are taking away our innate rights. You believe that the government's job is primarily to protect people from harming other people, but after that they should mind their own business, and if we give the government too much power in controlling our lives, it can lead to fascism.

Pacifist/Militarist score: 5
You're a Moderate. You think that in very rare occasions, the United States should invade a country in order to make the world better by spreading democracy or ending a tyrants rule. You also think that defense is very important, and we shouldn't lower the defense budget. You think that, while the Iraq War probably was a mistake, that we can make the world a better place by sticking with it and spreading democracy in the middle east.

Overall, you would most likely fit into the category of Libertarian

I tried this one as well, and also got Libertarian. I think the two you presented are more accurate.

You desire substantially less government control of economic activity and somewhat less government control over personal activity than is presently the case in the U.S. I used to classify this area as part of “Moderate Libertarian” but got many objections; I guess calling you a moderate libertarian is akin to calling a liberal Democrat a “Moderate Communist.”

Your views would be best represented by a mix of Libertarian and Republican representatives—assuming that it was possible to get a significant number of Libertarians elected. The Libertarian Party is still dominated by people far more radical than you though there is an ongoing effort to make the LP more inclusive and less radical. If you have the patience and willingness do deal with infighting, you may want to join this effort. Or, you might find my proposed new party more to your liking.

Approximately 8% of the takers of this quiz scored in this area.

I agree. I don't think this test is that great. I ended up being depicted as extremely, slightly to the right economically, and two squares toward libertarianism. I consider myself to be socially moderate, and economically hardcore rightwing. I don't identify myself as a libertarian though, and have always been a self-identified conservative; but then, it seems that such definitions change, and my concept of conservatism is more in line with Ron Paul than say, a John McCain. Perhaps I'm a paleoconservative? In any case, one of the questions was whether humanity was more important than corporations, to which I answered "humanity". I can only assume that such was the "leftwing" answer, but that's a loaded question (was the implication that I would support the health care bill, for instance?). A lot of questions were like that.
