The Real Newt Gingrich

The Real Newt Gingrich on Vimeo (http://www.vimeo.com/6445068)

Newt Gingrich is often viewed as a conservative politician. This video is a speech John McManus, president of the John Birch society (http://www.jbs.org/), gave which exposes the REAL Newt Gingrich by examining his track record and showing his true motivations.

Well hell, we knew Newt wouldn't long be pro-tea party... if he can't subvert them to his neo-con ways through Palin and others, he'll demonize and try to sideline them... Everyone knows it's a Paul and Palin thing... the two wings. If one particular wing wins out.... ours, guess whose going to be demonized by the "conservatives" that be?

I'm glad to see Gingrich roll on the Tea Parties, maybe this will finally allow conservatives to see through this saboteur. After his inside job on the "Contract with America", I can't understand how any Republican can possibly take him seriously.

Well said, Newt's name fits his character. He's a slimy little snake-like creature in the grass.

Newt Gingrich was born Newton Leroy McPherson.

Lulz.

Gingrich has been married three times, to three different women.

He first married Jackie Battley, his former high school geometry teacher, when he was 19 years old, and she was 26 years old.[56][57] They had two daughters. The couple decided to divorce after Gingrich told his wife of his extra-marital affair while she was recovering from cancer surgery.[58] In 1981, six months after his divorce was final, Gingrich wed Marianne Ginther.[59] He remained married to Ginther until 2000, when they divorced.

Shortly after his second divorce, Gingrich married Callista Bisek, who is 23 years his junior. He began his relationship with Bisek while he was still married to his second wife. Ironically, this extramarital affair started during the Congressional investigation of Bill Clinton's perjury relating to his affair with 23-year-old intern, Monica Lewinsky, which led to Clinton's impeachment.[60]

Newt and Callista Gingrich currently live in McLean, Virginia.[61]

A Baptist since graduate school, Gingrich converted to Catholicism, his wife's faith, on March 29, 2009

Hypocrite.

In an interview with The Economist, Gingrich stated, "As a British court noted, waterboarding is not torture." Gingrich also believes George W. Bush's policy of "aggressive national security" kept the US safe and "blocked a number of planned attacks," but he admitted that "In the larger and longer war with the irreconcilable wing of Islam, it is clear we are not yet winning".

Ugh.

In 2009 Gingrich teamed with two unlikely allies to promote their shared view of education reform: civil rights activist Al Sharpton, and the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Education, Arne Duncan. After the three had visited a number of U.S. schools that were implementing education reforms, on November 15, 2009 they appeared together on NBC’s Sunday morning news and interview program Meet the Press. During their interview Gingrich said that “education is the number one factor in our future prosperity, it's the number one factor in national security and it's the number one factor in [our] young people having a decent future. I agree with Al Sharpton, this is the number one civil right of the 21st century

Ah, now it's a national security matter, Leroy? Thought you were going to abolish the federal DoE?

Prussian fascist.

Hell, don't badmouth the Prussians by associating them with this backslidden, neoconservative, hypocritical stalking horse for centralism. ;)

Whatever bandwagons he's tried to get on over the years, I don't think abolishing the DoE was ever one of them. He's a big part of the reason we have the DoE.

Republicans did not embrace the revolution and now it is biting them in the ass. Where I am at the tea party has come into the GOP and is working to eject someone. Funny thing is the status quo does not have the numbers to fend them off without Ron Paul supporters and I don't envision Ron Paul supporters intervening to help out anyone who shit on Ron Paul or CFL. It is going to be interesting to see it play.

In 1996, while Leroy was Speaker of the House, the Republican Party made abolition of the Department a cornerstone of their campaign promises, calling it an inappropriate federal intrusion into local, state, and family affairs.

The GOP platform read:

The Federal government has no constitutional authority to be involved in school curricula or to control jobs in the market place. This is why we will abolish the Department of Education, end federal meddling in our schools, and promote family choice at all levels of learning

Yah, and he's beating Ron Paul by three points in PPP primary GOP polling in NH.

Much work to be done.
