Cool! One thing I always say when it comes to capitalism - the best way to ruin capitalism is to make it mandatory, which the Democrats did with their health care bill.

I'm here from the left and I can see that Ron could bring in several more. My main reason for being a Democrat was because I mistakenly thought they were non-interventionists overseas,. boy was I wrong...here's hoping others will realize that, too.

I was talking to this guy at the ford plant today and he basically told me he's a hard core socialist (yet I don't think he knows what a socialist is based on his opinions) and he told me he agreed with Ron Paul on most things and he stressed most. I was floored. We agreed on pretty much nothing.

Some of his talking points were:

Ban hand guns because their small and there's "no point" but get a shot gun and promise not to make it a concealable sawed off. Oh and it's only for hunting.

Just throw all oil executives in jail because their bad.

He knows the government is corrupt but thinks they don't regulate enough and thinks corporations and capitalism are evil even though he's a business owner.

Why he likes Ron Paul, I have no idea but this seems common. Ron Paul does bring people together.

I think Ron Paul does get a lot of nods from disillusioned Democrats when he says Obama is a "corporatist." I doubt many actually believe the Democrats are actually "sticking it" to "the man," but rather doing the opposite, even if their intentions are the former not the latter.

Saw an interesting article the other day ostensibly about Code Pink and the Tea Party coming to an uneasy truce, but what I actually saw was a Code Pink big-wig praising Ron Paul and his followers.

ETA: Here it is:
CODEPINK and Tea Party: A Love-Hate Affair? (http://www.opposingviews.com/i/codepink-and-tea-party-a-love-hate-affair)

And, shockingly, no mention of Ron Paul on the Fox News version of the story:
Tea Party + CODEPINK = Love? (http://www.foxnews.com/opinion/2010/04/15/ellen-ratner-tea-party-tax-day-washington-code-pink-republican-military/)

Welcome silentshout... Yeah I think most of us here believed in our politicians and govt at one point. It can be very disturbing when we get punched with reality..

I was a socialist too for almost 27 years. Ron woke me up.

I have gone all around the web to different liberal sites posting articles at lib sites there have been a few times when they really beat me up good over me posting something about Ron.

I think with the passage of HCR Obama's people are starting to become more disillusioned. The head line of the article is what sucked a lot of them in to read it. I changed it a little just as an experiment to see if anyone would respond. Many of the things I post there about Ron have gotten no replies at all but this time I have over 200 replies and over 1000 views.

I want to thank my buds from here for going and having a look and replying if you did reply. :)

we need more of this. i have been saying this since i was aboard back in the day! converting a democrat, republican or indy is easier then trying to convert a neo-con! we have many issues that interest so-called liberals, conservatives and everyone between!(note getting tired of labels really everyone is an individual!!)

There are many articles @ newsvine about tea partiers being racist I get in there and do battle with them all the time posting videos and links trying to disprove this idea.

I want Ron to get the recognition he deserves the time is right for people to be looking at what their options are. Since I am so broke I cannot contribute money so at least I can do everything I can to get his name out there it is worth getting my butt kicked if it helps to get people interested in freedom. I am a warrior for Ron Paul :D and I will proudly get my butt kicked if that is what it takes
