Blame it on the pressures of tax time, but libertarian lawmaker Rep. Ron Paul (R-Texas) earned more new Facebook fans last week than any other member of Congress, making him America’s most popular lawmaker. At least on Facebook.

According to ohmygov.com’s rankings, the congressman racked up more than 3,000 new Facebook fans in a seven-day period, for a grand total of 193,959 fans, miles ahead of his closest competitor, Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), who has 26,146 fans.

whoever is running RP's FB needs to do an outreach effort. Ron needs as many friends as possible.

The total Facebook fans for Ron Paul is now at 195,458.

However, we still have a ways to go:
Mitt Romney: 286,945 fans
Sarah Palin: 1,534,523 fans
Tim Pawlenty: 37,389 fans
Newt Gingrich: 46,111 fans

That's a staggering number for Palin...

As a movement with a solid Internet following, there's no reason why we shouldn't be able to breach the 1 million fan mark for Ron over the next year. Hopefully the End the Mandate as well as his college campus speaking tours and continued MSM interviews will help that cause tremendously.

I hate to stereotype but I'd imagine a large portion of those sarah palin fans are mothers who have facebooks to snoop on their children's online activity. And she was a vp nominee. greatly inflating her facebook numbers during election time.

Anyone else notice that every talk radio show in America is pushing this guy forward at every turn?

Maybe it's just a coincidence?
