I miss him too - he and Kucinich made the Dem side interesting.

I talked to him and was considering working on his campaign before Paul announced his exploratory committee - at which point I immediately supported Paul.

Did try to get him a speaking gig at my uni and my uni wouldn't touch him :(

If Gravel ran against Obama, there would be no "primary season" - he wouldn't be a serious enough challenger to warrant debates or garner any other sort of attention.

He's wrong on some things (has a utopian vision of direct democracy and world govt.) but he's mostly good. He also said that if was president he would put Ron Paul in a "key position" in his administration (I'd guess Sec. of Treasury based on this discussion):

lol, Mike Gravel is Harmless, like a lot of people like him, he articulates the problem well, he just somehow has a disconnect where

"the problem is the government" becomes "the answer is restructuring government"

It's almost an unwritten law in politics that bested candidates go on to grow some kind of facial hair after their campaigns. Al Gore, Bill Richardson, Mike Gravel. I brought up the idea of having RP do it after the '08 race but nobody liked the idea! :D
