What do you think of this? Any opinions on Ventura? He has, in the past, called himself a libertarian. He's also had that conspiracy TV show recently.

You'll find some here hate him, some love him. Personally, I like him for the most part.

I like him. I don't agree with him on everything, but overall, I like him.

I actually don't like him at all. His governing record wasn't one of a libertarian, he has spoken in favor of the healthcare bill, he's a bit of a conspiracy nut, and he seems to be in search of money, not principles. Still, I prefer an Independent over most Rs or Ds.

I hope he doesn't include Ron Paul in the R's he won't vote for.

I was thinking the same thing.

He is a brain damaged high school football coach that is only allowed to get publicity, book and tv shows deals because the Establishment either thinks he is no danger or even think he is useful.

And his constant macho-man Navy Seals babbling makes me want to see him get hit by a train...

Well I think he rejection of the two party system is basically correct. However, a part of me is very sympathetic to the "dump the incumbents" movement so I may vote for a liberal Republican candidate here in NY just to try to get rid of Carolyn Maloney who has represented my district since '93.

I also have mixed feelings about Jesse Ventura though. He is sympathetic to Ron Paul, and is a vocal critic of the unjust wars. So he is on our side here, but the fact that he champions universal health care tells me he is not a libertarian.

I think Ventura represents a necessary element in American discourse, with his raw populist message. Do I think he has alot of things wrong? Definitely. But he does make good points.

Has anyone asked Ventura if he would vote for a Republican if Ron Paul won the Nomination?
