10. I voted Democrat because I believe oil companies' profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn't.

Somehow I feel that if a democrat does see this, they're not going to say "Oh, you're right, I'm switching."

Usually the best approach isn't to come out and tell people they're wrong, but find out why someone cares about that issue and then address it with our solutions.

Sadly, many who call themselves Republicans are phony conservatives and are just as bad, although they sometimes hide it.Can you make the same list for them. Something like, I voted Republican because I feel it's wrong to abort a child but perfectly fine to drop a bomb on a pregnant woman....

My old voting technique was I'd always vote for the Libertarian, but if there wasn't a Libertarian, I'd vote for the Republican. It wasn't until after I came on this site that I actually took the time to look up everyone I was voting for. :o

Well, I voted for a Democrat because I believed it would be the opposite of what Bush was doing to this country. So I was wrong :). But no, I never really identified with anything on this list, except maybe the gun thing for a while because I was afraid of the whole gun thing. Not anymore..I don't really want to own one but I support the right to.

And for your last point, you don't have to be from "the left" to not believe in God..it has nothing to do with political leanings. (People are free to choose this.)
