Just created new Facebook group to support HR4995 "End The Mandate" which grew from zero to 14 members literally in minutes. If anybody wants to help admin this group, please let me know -- running my campaign by myself, this group deserves more time than I can possibly give.

Join the group and let me know who you are to promote to admin.

Hey man, as fast as this group could grow, at this point I'm thinking the more the merrier. with 3 to 4 total administrators, the group will be manageable up to 75,000 members.

Once I get a hard-text of the bill itself, I will begin a hard membership push.

Maybe the name should be "End the Healthcare Mandate" instead so people know what it is?

Done:

"End The Mandate - HR 4995 - Stop the Health Insurance Mandate!"

Kept the first part as that is apparently the 'official' name of the bill.

Thank you,

over 100! great work sir

thank you!

We can, and OUGHT to be the grassroots best source of information on this bill. I have already gotten a message to the C4L State Coordinator to push up the chain and get the text of the bill (or better yet, the preferred "pdf copy" that people like so much) even more quickly than Thomas can cover it.

If we can set this group up as a coordination hub for HR 4995, then it will be an AWESOME ramp-up for the RP12 effort!

maybe use there page as an example layout of how we could do our page. I'm not a fan of the group name title but i'm also a minimalist ;P I think something simpler would sound better but the group has already started so kind of too late

anyway lets keep posting on this FB page, we should post every day. I'm liking the direction this is going. Looks like we already got 10 new members

I am at your "1,000,000+ people who disapprove of the Health Care Bill" page right now, and wanted to let you know about a new development in the story. Congressman Ron Paul has officially introduced his legislation to repeal the federal health insurance mandate. The bill (officially titled "End the Mandate") number is HR 4995, and the text should be on the Library of Congress' Thomas website very soon.

I started a new FB group that picked up 100 members within the first hour: End The Mandate - HR 4995 - Stop the Health Insurance Mandate!

I intend to post a single wall-story to this group from your group, and I am hoping we can work together in the future to stop this monstrosity!

Glen: We are not interested in a partial fix. Our mission ius to have the law repealed and we have agame plan to see it through. I view Ron Paul's bill as a distraction that will take our eye off the ball.

Thanks

Glen Bradley ₢ April 13 at 10:33pm
I am only interested in a complete fix as well -- and I see this as the best avenue for achieving that -- good luck getting 60 Senators on board with an outright repeal before 2014.

Thanks!

I think my initial post to his wall was deleted -- but several other group members are now hitting his wall with the link. :D

He just needs to understand we can't just outright repeal the entire law, but we can repeal key aspects of it, which will *set us up* for a full repeal later on down the road.

We dont need that . We need to win the House in Nov and possibly the Senate to block funding until 2012 when we take back the presidency and repeal in Feb 2013. If you aim low you will achieve inferior results.

Repealing the mandate doesn't solve the numerous issues with this bill and quite frankly, again it has no chance of approval.

Glen Bradley ₢ April 13 at 10:55pm
I promise you I am not aiming low. My goal is to roll back not merely the last 6 months, but the last 60 years of health care sector regulations that have hampered our doctors and scientists and delivered the American people lower quality and higher cost health care than we should have had, even as we had the best health care in the world. The way I see it, the first step is to bankrupt the regulatory system that has build up around the health care industrial complex and create an environment where health care professionals and scientists are restored to a position of being in charge of their own destiny.

Without the Insurance Mandate, the Obama system will collapse under its own weight, and American innovation will be required to step from those ruins into a new day of health care freedom controlled by the doctor and the patient, delivering sound scientific innovations devoid of government largesse that will make American health care better, less expensive, and more free of government interference than has ever been had since the original HMO act passed under Richard M. Nixon, in 1973.

The admin still saying BS:

Ron Paul can introduce anything he wants to grab political headlines. He has zero chance of apprvl unless we win back House and Senate, which if we do, we can stall funding until 2012 Presidential election and remain on course to repeal. This is a complete red herring.

This was a great idea...

I really like where we (as a movement) have been going lately. Whilst supporting candidates that are actually worth a shit, we're creating a stir in Washington for sensible legislation.

This facebook group could be extremely powerful.

• Invite others to do the same. To select all of your friends at once, click invite people to come, and then put the following code in your address bar and hit enter:

javascript:elms=document.getElementById('friends') .getElementsByTagName('li');for(var fid in elms){if(typeof elms[fid] === 'object'){fs.click(elms[fid]);}}

The little java bit in the description.

If you click on "Invite members" and that little window comes up, go into your address bar (clear it out) and paste:

javascript:elms=document.getElementById('friends') .getElementsByTagName('li');for(var fid in elms){if(typeof elms[fid] === 'object'){fs.click(elms[fid]);}}

it will select every friend in your address book without having to click on each one individually. :D

*strongly* suggest limiting the messages that go out, especially with a group like this that has broad appeal. groups that post too often wear out their welcome in my experience.

635 -- yeah when people wake up and see their invites this thing is going to go plaid. I'm just hoping I can get the text of 4995 back from C4L national in riki tik. beating Thomas will be a coup for the group no kidding. :D We'll get seen as the "first source" for info on the bill and there will be another magaspike.

100% agree -- that's why I did not send a message with the java invite code. ;)

Group messages should be for major developments relating to the group itself. Announcing critical cosponsors, hurdles through committee, petition announcements etc.
