I'm NOT comparing ron Paul to Jesus or making an assertian about christianity in the least here:

Was reading a book called "the Jesus Myth" by Andrew greeley. It's NOT about Jesus being a myth but about his story and what it means. It's a badly chosen title but a good book.

One of his points and the point of the book was that when people say Jesus isn't relevent to our time they should remember that he wasn't relevent to his own time. The big issues of the day were when is the world going to end, the roman occupation, and what is the best interprettation of the torah. Jesus didn't have alot to say about any of these thigns, instead he asserted that the kingdom of heaven was at hand and to start living like you knew it, basically. He was talking about something completely different and was irrelevent and YET, he pissed people off so much he had to be killed!

This reminds me alot of how the media and our competing political activists (democrats, neocons), approach the Ron Paul campaign: with a combination of perplexity, annoyance and scorn.
