OKLAHOMA CITY – Frustrated by recent political setbacks, tea party leaders and some conservative members of the Oklahoma Legislature say they would like to create a new volunteer militia to help defend against what they believe are improper federal infringements on state sovereignty.

THis is pretty interesting especially the window into those who choose to respond at the bottom of the article. Ironically the militia arrests were up North so would be better to see this initiative be picked up in that locale to lessen the racial stigmatism they are attaching to southern state's rights initiatives.

A quick glance at the comments, :(

people still have no concept of the Constitution or the 2nd amendment.
Sad.

btw, for those in the "tea party" and others,,,The Militia is already there.
Just support them. ;)

Ya but think about what happened there a while back.. it's actually pretty amazing that these people are actually willing to stand up on this issue in that particular place.

I realize that said person I am referencing was not actually involved in any militias, but ask the average American if he was.

NEVER LOOK AT COMMENTS!!!!!!!!!!!!

They don't mean a darned thing. If you went off internet comments, the majority of people in this country are atheists and/or communists. How often do you run into real atheists and communists in real life? Almost never.

Edit: This isn't meant to provoke a religion debate, I am just pointing out the statistical anomaly that is the internet.

yeah. if one wants to create a militia, the best way to defend against liberal propaganda would be to align the militia with legislatures/politicians, with clearly stated, legal/moral goals.

while i doubt that racism has a play in the majority of militias, the majority of average americans, not liberals, just AVERAGE americans, think militias are hate-based groups that want to completely get rid of the federal government.
