Give the guy some credit! jamie Oliver goes into hostile territory to separate people from their unhealthy fatty foods. Good luck with that! He cries when he is admonished by the town folks for attempting such a thing!

Hah! I'm watching it on hulu at this very minute!

I respect the guy. His show is a bit cheesy, but I really like what he's doing.

I made a thread a few weeks back about how he took a few jabs at the government for making completely nonsensical regulations regarding food fed to kids. I enjoy the show, but need to catch up.

education and conversing is fine, but usually I find people like this believe that "well, since people won't listen, we need to have additional labels, health programs, fitness programs, diet programs, mandatory weigh-in's, etc" ie: statism at its finest.

ultimately we'll never solve the health problems with the current broken system, as it has no price mechanisms.

I love fish and chips, when they're done right. That ketchup has no place in that picture. When fries are done right, you don't need condiments.

I watched the first episode.
I had no idea food was so awful in schools. So I figure, maybe its just a bad area. So I go talk to my coworker and ask what kinds of foods they have at where her kids go to school. She basically described the same crap that was in the show, and she thought nothing of it. It is crazy how people don't realize how crap the food they eat is.

Anyway, it is an interesting show. I hope he gets through to the people.

There's nothing condescending about what he's doing. What's condescending is the USDA guidelines for the "food" children are eating in public schools. It's absolute crap and it's literally killing people.

So far he has attacked the USDA, FDA, and Big AG- as well as called for more local control for schools.

But, Hey... He is an educated person asking people to eat healthier, I guess that makes him wanna dem dare librals and we hates us them thar liberals.
