Besides the fact that we conduct shuttle air raids on Afghanistan from there?

Not to mention we overthrew their government via a Color Revolution a number of years ago to install a NATO friendly government. We then build bases there within striking range of Russia and China(and Afghanistan of course).

It's really quite convenient that this all happened right before 9/11. Krgystan was the main staging point for our forces into Afghanistan.

Ah, well. That hardly makes them unique, does it? Seems every other name we hear in the news we can say that about...

I thought we already have a base there and the revolters want it shut down??

Just read the article, and what I posted seems to be true, so I don't get the question that was asked here..

Anyways:

"This is not some anti-American coup, that we know for sure," said Mike McFaul, special assistant to the president and senior director for Russian Affairs. "This is not a sponsored-by-the-Russians coup."

Ya, maybe it's because the people there are tired of American Intervention..? Not Anti-America, but anti-Intervention... Silly MSM.

It's about time the people in other countries start revolting en masse.. I don't think we can have our Revolution without their help... :)

Does anyone here know anything about the people who overthrew the Kyrgyzstan govt.?

Yup. Their Parliament voted to shut it down last year. Backroom deals were made. It stayed open.

Until now perhaps.

If that's true, then I'd say they're justified in their taking back the Government..

Is that the reason for their purpose?

Any situations like this is multilayered.

Opposition I imagine is backed by Moscow who has an interest in removing the American air base there as well.

I know one fact and that the President that just got displaced was a big taxer. He taxed farm animals and even air. W/e caused his down fall whether on it's own or with somebody's help was not hard to acheive.
