View Full Version : FEC already reporting near $50,000 in donations from PACs to Grayson in Q1

In total, Grayson received $300,000 from PACs (http://query.nictusa.com/cgi-bin/can_give/2009_S0KY00131). He's keeping up the pace with nearly $50,000 reported by the PACs themselves in Q1 of 2010. There is still 7 days for PACs to report their donations to Grayson, so we could see this $50,000 jump higher. In total, Grayson has collected $300,000 from PACs, or 12.4% of his total donations from PACs.

http://query.nictusa.com/cgi-bin/can_give/2010_S0KY00131

Donations from:

Yum Brands ($3,000)
Verizon ($2,000)
Raytheon ($3,000)
Microsoft ($2,000)
Duke Energy Corporation ($1,500)
Dean Foods ($1,000)
AT&T ($3,000)
and plenty of others

Compared to Rand Paul

Donations from:

No Committees Gave to this Candidate

Yum Brands had already donated $5,000 to Grayson, which I believe means that the $3,000 donated this quarter must go to general election funds. I wonder how much of Grayson's funds from this quarter are general election funds?

Oh no, we're doomed. Grayson has got the support of Kentucky Fried Chicken.

Mother of God, we must send Cartman to talk to the Col. about this.

He still outraised us by $100K, which means he has been getting some real donations as well... Hopefully another 50k+ report within the 7 days.

Paul really has zero?

this should be cited as evidence that he will not bow down to special interest

this can be spun as grayson momentum or spun as further defining the outsider/no lobbyist position of Paul

I could have sworn that Sarah Palin's pac gave to Rand when she endorsed him.

Let's not forget that Grayson is getting big money from executives and others - money which technically isn't PAC money, but still counts as "money no decent canddiate would accept".

 what is wrong with being an executive exactly? It isn't a crime to be leadership of a company my friend!

Not necessarily. Keep in mind a PAC can give $5000 and the people at the top of the ladder can then go and give $4800 a piece. So, the average executive will give him $4800 and then donate to a PAC so the PAC can fund him as well. With cash donations like that, you don't need a lot of donors. Rand needs unique donors because we can only give $100 or less most of the time.

When that company is AIG and its executives, along with AIG's lobbying firm, it matters. They're using our money to throw banquets for Grayson.

ok, then don't use blanket terms for many americans like simply 'executives' there are many executives that give to liberty candidates and support their cause fully.

Seriously? I'm sure some do, but I haven't heard of the majority of executives giving money to liberty candidates. Link?

:rolleyes: come on now, we have tens of thousands of small businesses with their executives.

Your blindness in this regard is rather frightening, to be an executive is NOT EVIL.

Can you source where you found that many executives donate to liberty candidates? In general, many prefer the status quo.

Peter Schiff, Mr Evil, or own llepard, evil man! EVIL EVIL!!!!

Let us not forget Ron and Rand, both small business owners and very likely at executive levels controlling a day to day interest in their practice(or did).
