Well, Orlando's County Code Enforcement wants to fine me for every Ron Paul sign in central Florida. $1000 per day is what they are threatening me with. The Code Enforcement officer even had the gall to say that he has signed up under a fake name to our Meetup Group to monitor our emails and activity. Talk about warrantless wiretaps and searches!

I'm taking the battle to the media. First stop is a local talk radio program here in Orlando. You can listen live here: http://www.1190wamt.com/ 11am to 12 noon. Weds.

It's amazing they won't even consider this warantless searches. Welcome Patriot Act. This is absolutely insane. I can't believe they are doing this. You better get a sweet lawyer and sue their bottoms.

Joe is a libertarian last I remember so one would think he would support RP. But I also heard some flap about him a while back and apparently lost all credibility?


Regardless, if the code enforcement people did indeed join the meetup, that doesn't quite count as a warantless search since anyone can join. In fact, it doesn't count as a search at all. It would be like reading the newspaper - something was printed for the consumption of anyone who happened to be reading what was printed.


With that being said, unless they can prove that you either posted the signs yourself, or encouraged others to, then they have no case. Gone.

I just hope you don't own property in Orange County because they might try putting a lien against your property or trying to tack something onto your property tax :(

ACLU has been very helpful to our group in the past! We're now on a first name basis with the local chapter president.
