She is a liberty candidate from Georgia running for the House. Skip to 5:12 to hear her talk. Her call to abolish the IRS caught my attention. There is a guy and three women running. Valerie Meyers seems to be the most passionate.

In the second video she talks from 4:06 and 6:35. Her positions on illegal immigration are identical to Ron Paul's.

The lady to the left of Valerie apparently want to take away her support, as she defines herself as a "Republican libertarian" in the first video. However, the moderator asked her at 8:48 from where Congress received its powers and asked her to name a few. She didn't know how to answer and the moderator had to ask her the question for a second time. She didn't know.

I heard her on The Mike Church Show a few weeks ago. Sounds like a great candidate! (not to mention a member of this forum)

Dear Friends,

As of today, April 7, 2010, I am withdrawing from the race to become the next representative of Georgia’s 8th Congressional District.

While we have achieved much in our campaign efforts, I believe taking this step is the right thing for me and my family at this time. I have enjoyed working with all of our wonderful volunteers and appreciate the opportunities I have been given along the way.

I still firmly believe that this is the year a Conservative can and will defeat Jim Marshall, and that Republicans will retake Congress this fall. I pledge to do all that I can to help assure that the eventual Republican nominee in this is race is elected in November.

Sincerely,

Valerie Meyers

I'm disappointed, too. I will keep fighting, but not as a candidate for Congress. I appreciate the encouragement and support.

Did Valerie withdraw due to personal reasons or did she not have a chance?

Low Preference:

We were one of the top ranked Congressional campaigns in the nation and I had been invited to speak at several events. I'd appeared on multiple radio shows and was featured in Tina Brown's online political blog the Daily Beast alongside Debra Medina and Linda Goldthorpe.

There were multiple reasons that led to me leaving the race: lack of capital, lack of support, lack of assistance from my party, lack of time, the last of which translates into lack of resources. I believe we could've done much better if we'd started earlier and had the money to pay someone to manage the campaign.

Our numbers at the website and facebook had plateaued and I felt we were in a catch 22. We needed to raise awareness levels, but couldn't afford to spend money on marketing. I'm sure I made rookie mistakes that cost us campaign funds as well.

I'm glad you gave it a try. I'm convinced most people who heard a debate would have voted for you, but maybe I'm partial because I agree with your positions even before I hear you talk.

Nevertheless, hope you run in the future and we do a better job funding you!
