Thornberry is my Congressman. I have met him. Damn nice guy. But he voted for the first Bush bailout. He is pretty decent at pulling in pork. Does that make him effective? He isn't a neo-con so much as a traditional conservative who has adopted a neo-con foreign policy, partially because we are in the war hungry Bible Belt and it is politically necessary unfortunately. Again, not a bad guy, but most definately a politician. Obviously there were other people pushing for him to sign on to Audit the Fed, but I am just egotisitical enough to think my threat of convincing my grandfather not to donate 2000 dollars to him every year did the trick.
Sincerely,
Slutter McGee
