Asenath Kepler today endorsed Adam Kokesh for Congress in New Mexico's Third District. Ms. Kepler ran for Mayor of Santa Fe in March of 2010, and now joins the Kokesh for Congress campaign as Committee Chairwoman.

Ms. Kepler said that Adam "has what it takes" to represent the people of Northern New Mexico. "He is the only Republican that can win in this district," she added.

"I am thrilled to have Asenath Kepler supporting me as a candidate," said Mr. Kokesh. "I supported Ms. Kepler's candidacy for Mayor because she is a consistent advocate for the people of Santa Fe, and a champion of accountability in government. I look forward to working with her to regain this seat for the people of the Third District."

Looks like she did decent in the mayor race, losing to the Incumbent. Hopefully the Incumbent doesn't endorse Kokesh' Republican opponent.

Candidate Votes Percent
David Coss (Incumbent) 7,451 58%
Asenath Kepler 4,367 34%
Miguel Chavez 1,031 8%

At least she is a Republican and seems to have the support of the party. hopefully she can bring some of the party people over to Kokesh....

When Santa Fe mayoral candidate Asenath Kepler lost the March 2 mayoral election—pulling 4,400 votes, or roughly one-third of the votes cast—she promised to stay involved. At least for know, we know how she plans to do so: As chairwoman of Adam Kokesh’s Congressional campaign committee.

“He is the only Republican who can win in this district,” Kepler says in a statement.
Kokesh of Santa Fe faces Farmington Republican Tom Mullins—most recently in the news for expressing his fears about forced civilian disarmament—in the June 1 primary election. Whoever wins will challenge US Rep. Ben Ray Luján, D-NM.

That Kokesh supports Kepler and vice-versa is no surprise, given their shared philosophy. And speaking of Tea Partiers, it looks like they’ll be protesting again this year on April 15.
