LEITCHFIELD, Ky.—Less than two years ago, this farming county of 24,053 perched at the edge of the western coal fields of Kentucky cast only 125 ballots for Texas Rep. Ron Paul's libertarian bid for the Republican presidential nomination.

Yet last month, when U.S. Senate candidate Rand Paul, the libertarian-leaning son of the Texas congressman, walked into the Grayson County Republican Party's annual Lincoln Dinner, the room was thick with locals sporting stickers that said: "I'm a Rand Fan."

From the article (empahsis added)

"Recent polls show the younger Mr. Paul, a 47-year-old eye surgeon from Bowling Green and an early leader of the tea-party movement, far outpacing Trey Grayson, a telegenic 37-year-old party insider in his second term as secretary of state."

Where the heck did they come up with that!! telegenic...uh...right.

My favorite quote from the article:

"I'm the true conservative," Mr. Grayson said, "The way you win is by convincing conservative and moderate Democrats to vote for you."

Good luck getting the conservative and moderate Democrats to vote for you in the Republican primary!

It wasn't a terrible article. No mention of the tax organization he was involved with, preferring to describe him as someone who popped up in the Tea Party.

It's because he is viewed as "young"... at 37, I think he should go back to trying to work for a private law firm and see if he can hack it this time.
