36 - Mitch Daniels
195 - Newt Gingrich
296 - Mike Huckabee
7 - Gary Johnson

Everybody tired of messing around with online polls?

or

don't like the fact that you have to be a part of the Republican party and may have to donate to see results?

Tired of the GOP ignoring the polls and pushing their chosen candidates to the status of 'front-runner'.

I donated $1 as well and voted for only Ron Paul. I imagine these donators are a mix of Tea Party and Neocons. Here is the ballot after my donation:

Ron Paul's at 88 now...I can't believe the Republican Party didn't have Income Taxes on their list of priorities.

10 years ago there was a big push for finding an alternative taxing system because people were so tired of the income tax. Now it's just a given.

I just voted. RP @ 116 in 5th place. I think you can visit the results page whether you vote or not (if you know the address as posted in the OP).

I'll add that this could be one of those put up or shut up kind of moments. If you support Ron Paul and really want to see him run/win, it starts with something simple like this. If you are afraid for the RNC to have your name and address, the RNC is probably right to discount your support as being unworthy of their consideration.

Ron is at 178 now guys/gals and closing in on the leaders at a nice pace... Really, we should own this thing because nobody I know wants those other candidates anymore. Belive it or not all of my older Republican friends now wish that they would have voted for Ron Paul!

It just takes people a while to admitt that they made a mistake. They are like neo-cons that are finally seeing the errors of their past ways. Many of us conservatives were dupped by ol G.W. Bush (Cheney) and for some it just takes longer to figure it out........

God Bless Ron Paul for his vigilance!

Romney still high up in the straw poll which tells me we have a combination of the following:

1. Progressives and Democrats are taking the poll.

2. We have clueless Tea party folks and Republicans that are protesting everything Romney stands for while at the same time want him as their Presidential candidate simply because they are clueless to what he is all about.

3. Romney progressives and clueless supporters are flooding the poll.

4. The poll is being rigged by GOP.com. (Romney's money and connections influence the GOP)

5. Votes based purely on Romney's name recognition, that he is a Mormon and has an R next to his name.

There was even talk of cooperation when both were shunned during the later debates.

Please don't vote more than once. Beat them fair and square.

Lessons to remember. Don't trust Huckster and Mitt people. They tried to screw us at every opportunity. Why they have so many votes is beyond me. Huck will not win and Mitt will not win.

Do not be surprised if Dr. Paul wins this poll and they don't report the result. If it is overwhelming for Ron, and no funny games on the vote, they have a problem.

Mish S. just came out for Ron and Rand. People just might be waking up.

And don't trust Fox News. They will try to screw us like last time. A skunk is a skunk. The stripe doesn't go away. They will cherry pick the panels as told by the WH.

I am guessing this next go around to get more ugly than the last if Dr. Paul keeps gaining ground as I suspect he will.

Kudo's to the poster picking up on this poll. If anyone here is on the Ticker Forum you might want to get the poll over there. I don't think they are big fans of Huck, Mitt or Sarah.

We need to win this one big and see if the GOP is big enough to report the result. If they do it will be gangbusters for Dr. Paul. If not, we know where they are going to end up. I am very cautious that they do not have John McCain on this poll. Something has, or is happening that his name is not on this poll.

Because they are stupid enough to do it again. Mitt will not cut it, Huck will not cut it, and they will trot out John when they see Dr. Paul is in the lead. This is a big game. Don't rule anything out.

If people are hacked at BO, the big money raiser was John. That they throw out the big money raiser, makes me wonder what is going on. Think about it that John, the biggest money raiser,is not in the poll.

You throw him out after he raises a bundle, not before. Something smells.

Huckster and Mittster are not going to raise what McCain would raise in one day.

Then again, what do I know?

I don't know if you remember or not, but Guiliani was the big fund raiser and GOP darling until his campaign stumbled and it was clear he wasn't going to win the nod for lack of popular support. McCain's campaign was broke and may have even violated Federal campaign laws on accepting matching money and then saying, "no thanks, I got it covered and don't want the restrictions that come with it".

The big GOP money machine just picked their new boy and McCain was it. The money flowed into his campaign almost overnight when they got scared at Ron Paul's surge. McCain sold his soul for that campaign.

During the general election campaign, he raised money, but not on par with what Obama raised.

During the general election campaign, he raised money, but not on par with what Obama raised.

yep, the only way the gop will see a dime of my money is nominate Ron Paul 2012

Holy shit, I leave for class and it's at 120-something in fifth place, I get back and we're in the lead at nearly 400!

Of course, now this means, 'Paulers stuffed the poll, poll = meaningless'.

I sent the OP a PM yesterday evening which has not been answered even though he's been online since it was sent.

I cannot find this poll by navigating/searching the gop.com website from the home page. I tried searching for other mentions of this poll using Google and "victory2012strawpoll" and the only web references to it all stem (followed) from this thread.

My post on dailypaul was ghosted after a member claimed this poll to be a fake poll / data mining operation. I asked the OP how he discovered it since this thread appears to be the first mention of it on the web.

If we can get the opponents ALL into single digits in the next two weeks of this GOP straw poll then they may start to realize the force is with Ron Paul for 2012 . . . maybe ?

Well, they did a great job if this poll is fake, it even shoots you back to the GOP web if you do not close your browser before trying to return to it.

You have a great point though as I can find no other link to it myself.... OP, please clarify on this..!

For those of us who had any doubt, this is a legitimate poll for the RNC.

I just got off of the phone with the payment processor (esolutions) and verified that they are doing this for the RNC..

Keep those votes coming!!!!!!

I have no doubt that the poll was set up by the GOP. I have questions as to what it's purpose is. I can't find any reference to it on the gop.com website.

Could it have been a trap? They know our weakness! We can't simply sit by while there's a somewhat officious poll with Ron Paul in it! The perfect plan! If I start getting subscriptions to obscure BDSM magazines or someone tries to use my name on a lease for a shack in New Guinea, I'm blaming you guys.

:D I wouldn't be surprised if it's a data mining effort on the part of the GoP to see where various candidate supporters are, and how well organized.

Isn't that pretty much what UltimateRonPaul.com was

for those who don't remember it was asite started by that famous conservative direct mail guy... vigurie or something. It sounded really cool, got a bunch of info... never updated afterwards.

If this is the case, then I doubt the GoP will acknowledge the results.

Hi, OP here.

I have to say I didn't expect these results after I didn't get many responses in the first couple of hours.

I got the link to this in an official mailer from the GOP. I often get surveys with typical "Do you think Obama is doing a good job?" questions but this one was a little different and of course they were asking for donations.

I stay a member with my $1 donation each year so a have a card to show people at GOP conventions to show my "loyalty" if it ever was in question.

04-01-2010, 10:23 AM
Thanks jt. I imagine they will be able to cross reference poll responses with existing mailing lists to discount any votes from folks who weren't previous donors then. Not a total loss though. Maybe they will include new voters in the announcement for future polls and not have a basis for discounting votes.

Would you mind sharing a pic (or transcript) of the original mailer?
