I am disappointed with my Republican party after attending the 5th District Lincoln dinner.
I was disturbed by the lack of neutrality between senate candidates Rand Paul and Tr*y Grayson. I was shocked to see Saturday’s event appear to be a Grayson rally. Every table had Grayson paraphernalia at the centerpiece and Grayson posters lined the walls. It was obvious there was no attempt to be “fair and balanced.”
Even more disturbing was the crowd’s response when the event began with the Pledge of Allegiance to our nation’s colors. We looked like bobble heads! Heads turning, looks of confusion, and my 8-year-old daughter asking me, “Mommy where’s the flag!?!” The hall was adorned with Grayson advertisements, but no American flag to face as we recited the Pledge.
