If people wish that the government leave them alone, people should stop heckling speeches. If we wish to be not disturbed, we should not disturb. Lead by example.

I kinda don't like Palin but I also have more sense than to attend one of her rallies and start yelling at her while she speaks.

What do you think would happen at a Ron Paul rally if someone kept yelling and wouldn't let him speak? You think everyone would just be nice to him until he quieted down?

Rights do not conflict with each other.

He went to a private function and acted like an ass, he can be removed. But there is no justification for arrest, because he was removed for his right to free speech.

Unless he refused to leave, then it's a crime. Your rights extend up to the point that you do not deny anyone else their rights.

What exactly do we know from the videos? We know for a fact that he:

1. Yelled and heckled

2. Was booted out

We don't know if he refused to leave and we don't know if he was arrested or charged.

I despise when cops abuse their power, but I also despise assholes (regardless of their politics). I have a bit of a live and let live attitude and I won't defend somebody who acts like an idiot. You go to an Eagles game with a Cowboys Jersey and you get your ass kicked you won't have any sympathy from me. You go to a Palin rally and start yelling at her you don't have much sympathy from me either.

Do you really think a heckler at a Ron Paul rally would have been treated better than this guy was? I seriously doubt it, and I wouldn't expect it.

I recall reading that he's going to be collecting 3 checks--Social Security, a military pension and congressional pension. Not to mention that he's rich as hell already.

 Wow! Apparently they shoot out electrodes connected to the base unit with wires. A one shot deal, though.

The TASER Shockwave system is the first generation of new TASER Remote Area Denial™ (TRAD) technology allowing for both increased safety and stand-off capability during hostile situations through the innovative use of TASER International’s field-proven TASER® X26™ Neuro Muscular Incapacitation (NMI) technology.

Couldn't that hard to build, basic electronics. From Wikipedia:

Electroshock weapon technology uses a temporary high-voltage low-current electrical discharge to override the body's muscle-triggering mechanisms. The recipient is immobilized via two metal probes connected via metal wires to the electroshock device. The recipient feels pain, and can be momentarily paralyzed while an electric current is being applied. It is reported that applying electroshock devices to more sensitive parts of the body is even more painful.[1] The maximum effective areas for stun gun usage are upper shoulder, below the rib cage, and the upper hip. High voltages are used, but because most devices use a high frequency alternating current, the skin effect prevents a lethal amount of current from traveling into the body. The resulting 'shock' is caused by muscles twitching uncontrollably, appearing as muscle spasms.

The internal circuits of most electroshock weapons are fairly simple, based on either an oscillator, resonant circuit, and step-up transformer or a diode-capacitor voltage multiplier to achieve the continuous, direct, or alternating high-voltage discharge. It may be powered by one or more batteries depending on manufacturer and model. The output voltages without external "load" (which would be the target's body) are claimed to be in the range of 50 kV up to 1000 kV, with the most common being in the 200 to 300 kV range. However, since air has a dielectric breakdown (Emax) of 3000 kV/m, it is clear that the spacing of the electrodes will not permit the upper range of claimed voltages (900 kV representing a minimum electrode spacing of about 30 cm). The output current upon contact with the target will depend on various factors such as target's resistance, skin type, moisture, bodily salinity, clothing, the electroshock weapon's internal circuitry, discharge waveform, and battery conditions.[2][3]

From what i could tell, the police grab him because two guys (with tags and a McCain shirt, so they must work for the event) were on top of him. And he was yelling for help from them, so technically the cops did their job. They were asking the guy in white to let go of the kid. He was continued to be taken out because he was causing trouble. We don't know that he was arrested, he is only shown being escorted. He wasn't even handcuffed . . .

I'm a bit confused why we are attacking the cops in this thread versus the thugs working for a McCain/Palin event?

I fully support this man. You guys want to throw him under the bus for fighting for our freedom, very well. Liberty Supporters in Name Only, LSINOs!

Of course they had a right to kick him out. But unless he refused, or something else happened, they had no justification to arrest him.
