A poster on another poster said that Scott Ashjian is a fraud and I stated that the Tea Party Express is a fraud, I really would love to see the comments from my friends here, I trust your judgment more than any other site.
Here is the article;or one of them that tells the story.....

Ashjian Faces New Lawsuit Alleging "False" Filing for Office

*Nevada Officials Revoke Ashjian's Contractors License
The Tea Party Express is calling out purported "Tea Party of Nevada" candidate, Scott Ashjian as a phony and a fraud in a new television ad campaign. The first ad in that campaign is being released today and can be seen here:
YouTube - TV Ad: Tea Party Express Tells Faker Scott Ashjian to "Get Lost!" (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajT9IgL7SG8)

The Tea Party Express has already spent over $350,000 in its campaign to "Defeat Harry Reid" and the organization will spend what is necessary to ensure voters know about the deception of Ashjian's claim to be a member of the tea party movement.
"Yes, the language in this ad is direct and tough, and that is how it should be. This guy needs to be called out," said Mark Williams, Chairman of the Tea Party Express.

"Here you have a fraud who tries to pass himself off as the candidate of the tea party movement when not one single tea party activist in the state has ever seen him at a tea party rally, or even heard of him before. How dumb do he and Harry Reid think we are?" asked Williams.

The Tea Party Express has conducted tea party rallies all across Nevada in cities including: Las Vegas, Henderson, Reno, Sparks, Carson City, Winnemucca, Elko, Ely, Fallon, Hawthorne and Tonopah.

"Scott Ashjian had no involvement with those rallies or any other activities organized by tea party organizations across the state. Scott Ashjian is no more a part of the tea party movement than Harry Reid or Barack Obama," Williams said.
Ashjian's candidacy has collapsed since he announced he was entering the race in early March.

Last week he slipped from his talking points that he is not a Reid-plant, and lashed out against the very tea party movement he pretends to represent calling Nevada's tea party activists "paranoid" and "afraid" in an interview with the Las Vegas Review Journal.

I pasted that from another site but here is a link to just one of many articles on the subject.

I'm thinking he's the "real deal" but like I stated, I trust the opinion here.

Speculation is that Ashjian is working for Reid, using the TEA party name just to split the GOP vote, so Reid will win reelection.

I have not seen this though, he "seems" like the real deal to me, why I feel that way, I don't have a good answer for, I was hoping some could enlighten me here.

Nobody in politics there heard of this guy until he annointed himself as the 3rd Party = Tea Party candidate. Why do you think he sounds like the real deal?

I have just read his site, I saw an interview where he mentions Ron Paul and all this coming at him seems to be mainly from the Tea Party Express and I don't trust them, I think that they are too cozy with the GOP, the Tea Party Patriots have not said much except that they can't comment and when pressed a spokesman said the negative talk was coming from Express.

Maybe he is a plant, I just don't want to see "one of us" get stonewalled like this if it's not true.

Ashjian is correct when stating the Republican Party is trying to hijack the tea party movement, but he is wrong when saying Tarkanian has no chance. Lowden is scum, maybe worse than Reid… Tarkanian has no experience and has little knowledge of the Constitution (even though he is a lawyer); but he is polling even with Lowden.

I doubt Ashjian will have an effect on the outcome either way with his baggage with the contractors board. With the way he has handled his business and personal finances… what is he going to do for us if he makes it to the Senate?

Sharron Angle was the RP Liberty Candidate, IIRC. Not sure if she is still in the race. Of course, Mommy is trying to paint Tarkanian as the RP candidate, because she's freaking crazy. http://bit.ly/bRJx2S - in the comments.

Looks like she's still in the race: http://www.sharronangle.com/

The tea party express is not the tea party. They are astroturf that formed well after the sponatenous grassroots effort of the tea party. Sarah Palin, Ann Coulter and other media bimbos can be found there.
http://www.teapartyexpress.org

Basically they are a neocon outfit, that leeched on to the tea party like a parasite drawing blood from their new host. I get the sense that they have alot of money, but not from us little people, but from the Washington, and Walstreet elite who want to milk us some more with their wars, and expansion of government.

They are infiltrators, plain and simple. Do not trust these counterfeits.

That is very true, but the people that show up at the rallies are not them. It's a great opportunity for recruiting voters and activists.

Do we have a candidate that we support in the race? I'm totally at a loss on this one.

Oh I don't, that's why I question this so much, had it not been the Express knocking him, I would not question it as much.

This is correct, Sharron appears to be the best candidate... but has little hope. :(

Update: http://www.ktnv.com/Global/story.asp?s=12224171

An arrest warrant has been issued for Ashjian. :)
They say he wrote a bogus check for $5,000 to a businessman in December.

Heh. Reid can't even come up with a decent ringer.

How many of them are just hired actors though? I think a lot of these things are mostly astroturf, they are just way too organized. I think both sides are doing it. 20,000 people in Searchlight Nevada?

The whole world is not a conspiracy. We went to a Tea Party Express rally last year. The people there are as real as you and I, and they're looking for leaders. The people on the stages are there to make money, but the people in the crowds aren't.

We saw the crowds cheering for small government, and pretty much ingoring the "Support The WARS!!" rallying cry.

We heard people say that they should have voted for Ron Paul.

We saw Ron Paul bumper stickers on unfamiliar cars.

So by all means, don't go to any political rallies. Only read these forums to form your opinion of what's really going on in the world. God knows we're always right about everything.

Going to a Liber-tea Party on the 10 of April in Bloomsburg PA. Sam Rohrer, candidate for Govenor, Jack Towne, 15 District Congressional Candidate, and more will be speakers. I'm ready with my CFL, End the Fed handouts, pocket constitutions and my Ron Paul sweatshirt or t-shrit depending on the weather. :) I agree we need to go and focus on what brings us together and besides they're usually fun.

I'm not saying not to go, or that real people aren't there. I'm just a little skeptical about 20k people showing up in the middle of some town in the middle of the desert that's all.
